The Eppendorf Research plus Move It multi-channel pipette, 6-channel, 120–1200 µL, dark green, adds an adjustable cone spacing to the Research plus range. Six channels with an adjustment range of 9–20 mm cover a mid-range between the 4- and 8-channel Move It variants, for protocols involving mixed well spacing. The 120–1200 µL volume range is designed for medium changes in cell culture and larger volumes of reagents, such as when transferring culture medium to several wells of a deep-well or culture plate simultaneously. The cone spacing is adjusted via a rotary knob with a scale on the multichannel base, so that the same pipette can be used for both the dense 9 mm grid of a well plate and for vessels spaced further apart, without having to change the device. The recommended tip for this is the epT.I.P.S. 50–1200 µL dark green, 103 mm tip; the order number for this version is 3125000192. The dark green colour code on the 6 tip cones corresponds to the volume colour coding used by Eppendorf for this range and makes it easier to identify the correct epT.I.P.S. tips in the tip rack.

The Move-It variant is worthwhile as soon as the same workflow involves handling both well plates and vessels with wider or narrower spacing, without the need to purchase a second device. Accuracy in accordance with DIN EN ISO 8655

Testing is carried out in accordance with DIN EN ISO 8655, with ten repetitions per test point and water in accordance with ISO 3696, with dispensing against the vessel wall. For the 120–1,200 µL range, the values at the test points are between 50 and 1,200 µL, broken down below into systematic and random deviations.

Recommended pipetting technique and environmental conditions

Tips that are not seated evenly are one of the most common causes of deviations between individual channels of a multichannel pipette; a quick visual check before the series helps to prevent this. The permissible operating range is 5 to 40 °C and 10 to 95 per cent relative humidity; for storage without packaging, the range is –5 to 45 °C. With 6 channels in use simultaneously, it is worth carrying out a brief test pipette stroke with water before the first run of the day to check that all channels are aspirating evenly, before pipetting the actual samples.
