The Heidolph Hei-VAP Core (MPN 571-01300-00) is the answer to the demand from many laboratories for a rotary evaporator that ‘simply works’. Operating concept: intuitive and safe

The Hei-VAP Core’s control panel is self-explanatory.

• Direct access: Two large rotary controls regulate the key parameters: rotation and heating bath temperature. You have full tactile control at all times.
• Digital display: Unlike purely analogue devices, the bright digital display shows the actual and setpoint values precisely. A single glance is enough to tell you whether the process is running stably.
• Lock function: To prevent accidental adjustment of the parameters (e.g. by cleaning staff or colleagues), the settings can be locked electronically.

The Handlift: Feel what’s happening

This package includes the tried-and-tested Handlift. Why do so many professionals deliberately opt against a motorised lift?

1. Direct feedback: As you lower the piston into the heating bath, you can feel the resistance. You can position the piston with extreme precision and speed, or pull it out of the bath in a flash if ‘boil-off’ (foam formation) occurs.
2. Robustness: Where there is no motor, there is no electronics to fail. The mechanical lift is practically indestructible and guarantees a silky-smooth operation even after years of use.

G3 Vertical Cooler: The space-saver

The G3 glass set is the standard for most applications. The vertical condenser saves valuable width in the fume cupboard (compared to slanted diagonal condensers). With a condensation surface area of approx. 1,400 cm², it offers excellent distillation performance for solvents such as ethanol, acetone or ethyl acetate. The system is designed for maximum vacuum and, thanks to high-quality seals (PTFE/FKM), is extremely leak-resistant.

Safety comes first

Heidolph is renowned for uncompromising safety (“Research made easy”).

• Residual heat indicator: Even when the unit is switched off, a flashing light ring warns the user as long as the bath temperature remains above 50 °C. This protects against burns.
• Separate on/off switch: The unit does not switch on accidentally when the power is connected, but must be started deliberately.
• Heating bath: The double-walled heating bath provides excellent insulation (no risk of burns from the outer wall) and features ergonomic carrying handles for safe emptying.

Durability and protection

The Hei-VAP Core’s electronics are protected against splashing water and dust in accordance with protection class IP 42. Ventilation slots and drainage channels are designed to prevent spilled liquids from entering the interior of the unit. The patented clamping sleeve system prevents the steam passage tube from becoming stuck in the drive – a common problem with other makes, which has been elegantly resolved here.
