Heidolph Multi Reax Multi-Vortex Mixer, 12 or 26 Vessels, Timer up to 999 Minutes, 545-10000-00

Product information "Heidolph Multi Reax Multi-Vortex Mixer, 12 or 26 Vessels, Timer up to 999 Minutes, 545-10000-00"

Anyone who needs to prepare several analyses at the same time wastes a lot of time repeatedly clamping samples in place when using a single-station vortex mixer. The Multi Reax solves this by mixing either 12 or 26 tubes in a single run, from Falcon tubes to Eppendorf reaction tubes with snap-on lids, and automatically stopping via a timer, rather than someone having to keep an eye on the clock.

Two adapters for different tube sizes

The 12-tube adapter accommodates tubes with a diameter of 16 to 32 millimetres, such as standard Falcon tubes. The 26-tube adapter is designed for smaller tubes with a diameter of 10 to 16 millimetres, such as Greiner tubes or Eppendorf reaction tubes with snap-on lids. Both attachments are available individually as spare parts if required, so a second set can be retrofitted without having to replace the main unit.

Timer up to 999 minutes with audible signal

The integrated timer runs for up to 999 minutes and automatically stops the shaking function; an audible signal indicates the end of the cycle. This means that users carrying out several tasks simultaneously do not need to keep an eye on the time themselves. The speed ranges from 150 to 2,000 revolutions per minute, displayed digitally, with a shaking orbit of 3 millimetres and a circular vibrating motion, driven by an asynchronous motor with a power consumption of 50 watts.

Operating conditions for continuous use

The Multi Reax is designed for ambient temperatures of 5 to 31 degrees Celsius at up to 80 per cent relative humidity; at higher temperatures up to 40 degrees Celsius, the permissible humidity decreases linearly to 50 per cent. It is intended for use at altitudes of up to 2,000 metres above sea level. Measuring 270 x 172 x 410 millimetres and weighing around 10 kilograms, the unit requires significantly more floor space than the single-station models in the series.

Multi Reax or single-sample vortex mixer

For individual samples here and there, a compact vortex mixer such as the Reax top will suffice, or, if a reproducible speed is required, the Reax control. If, on the other hand, a whole set of samples needs to be processed simultaneously, for example, prior to a series of analyses, the Multi Reax eliminates the need for repeated individual runs. For larger vessels requiring overhead rotation, the Reax 2, including a universal adapter, is a more suitable option; this is a different category of instrument with a different operating principle.

Typical applications

High sample throughput is part of everyday life in analytical laboratories when several samples need to be prepared at the same time.

  • Simultaneous mixing of 12 or 26 Falcon tubes, Greiner tubes or Eppendorf tubes
  • Time-controlled batch runs with the integrated timer up to 999 minutes
  • Sample preparation prior to high-throughput analytical measurement runs
  • Parallel processing of multiple tasks, whilst the timer monitors the process in the background

Scope of delivery

The scope of delivery includes the Multi Reax base unit. Which attachment, for 12 or 26 vessels, is required in each specific case depends on the vessel sizes available; replacement attachments for both variants are available separately.

Regulatory information

The unit is an electrical appliance within the meaning of the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG). The WEEE registration number of the manufacturer, Heidolph Scientific Products GmbH, is DE 50705753. Information on the return of end-of-life equipment can be found on our Environment and Disposal page.

Warranty and procurement service

Heidolph Scientific Products GmbH, Schwabach, provides a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. This excludes glass and wear parts, damage caused during transport, and damage resulting from improper use. If the instrument is registered with Heidolph, the warranty begins on the date of purchase; otherwise, it begins on the date of manufacture as indicated by the serial number. Your statutory warranty rights remain unaffected. Our procurement service can supply additional or alternative attachments for the Multi Reax on request.
