Not every laboratory needs the universal adapter straight away. Those who already have their own adapter in stock or work exclusively with larger vessels using the quick-release mechanism will find that the Reax 2 offers the same basic unit as the version with the adapter, just without the accessory, and is therefore slightly cheaper. The technology and design remain unchanged; the only difference is what is actually included in the box.

Quick-release system for 2 vessels

Two clamping holders accommodate vessels of different sizes and can be opened and closed without tools. The maximum permissible load is 1 kilogramme, and the usable area measures 230 x 160 millimetres. The universal adapter for sealed vessels with a height of 50 to 160 millimetres is not included in the scope of delivery for this order number, but can be added at any time as a separate accessory should you wish to mix smaller test tubes alongside the two large vessels.

Electronically controlled overhead rotation

The Reax 2 rotates the vessels upside down and controls the speed electronically; the speed is displayed on an analogue readout. According to the data sheet, the speed range is 20 to 200 revolutions per minute; elsewhere, the manufacturer specifies a range of 20 to 100 revolutions per minute, this discrepancy is already noted on the manufacturer’s website. With a sound pressure level below 45 dB(A) in accordance with IEC 61010 and a maximum power consumption of 33 watts, operation remains unobtrusive; a self-resetting overheating protection mechanism also safeguards against prolonged running.

Desktop design, weighing 5 kilograms

Measuring 501 x 235 x 180 millimetres and weighing around 5 kilograms, the Reax 2 is designed for a permanent place on the worktop, not for constant moving between rooms. The rated voltage is 230 to 240 V at 50 Hz or 115 V at 60 Hz; the unit is powered by a shaded-pole motor. A self-resetting overheating protection system automatically intervenes if the temperature becomes too high and allows operation to resume once the unit has cooled down. For processing individual tubes from time to time, without the need for quick-release clamping, a compact vortex mixer such as the Reax top from the same Heidolph range is more suitable.

Typical applications

Without the universal adapter, the focus remains on the two quick-release holders for larger vessels; for batches of smaller tubes, the option to add the adapter remains available at any time.

Technical details

Scope of delivery

The Reax 2 base unit is included in the scope of delivery. The universal adapter is not included with this order number and can be ordered separately if required, as can mounting brackets for other vessel sizes. If you would like the adapter included from the outset, opt instead for the Reax 2 incl. universal adapter, which comes with the adapter included.

Warranty and procurement service

Heidolph Scientific Products GmbH, Schwabach, provides a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. This excludes glass and wear parts, damage caused during transport and damage resulting from improper use. If the device is registered with Heidolph, the warranty commences on the date of purchase; otherwise, it commences on the date of manufacture as indicated by the serial number. Your statutory warranty rights remain unaffected. Our procurement service will supply the universal adapter or other accessories for the Reax-2 series as and when required.
