Of the HBC devices with LED display, the HBC 10 basic has the larger bath. The filling volume is 8 to 11 l, and the device measures 275 x 456 x 500 mm and weighs 18 kg. Compared with the HBC 5 basic with 5 to 7 l, it is 50 mm higher and 1 kg heavier at the same width and depth. Heating power, pump and control correspond to the data of the smaller device.

Bath, drain and pump housing

The stainless steel tank is insulated and easy to clean. A drain valve on the front allows emptying via a connected hose, without direct contact with the medium. The pump housing is made of plastic resistant to temperature and chemicals. Two NW 12 hoses are included in the scope of delivery, as is the CC1 cooling coil.

Heating, control, display

2,500 W heating power heats the medium from room temperature plus 10 K to 250 °C. With external cooling, -20 °C operating temperature is specified. According to DIN 12876 the temperature stability is ±0.02 K, and the display works with LED in steps of 0.1 K. The set temperature can be selected to an accuracy of 0.1 K. Working and safety probes are PT 100 and PT1000, and an external PT 100 probe can be connected.

Pump data

Flow rate up to 31 l/min at 0 bar back pressure, pressure up to 0.61 bar, suction side up to 0.45 bar. The pump output is adjustable. Connection is with M16x1.

Operating data

The device is 275 mm wide, 456 mm high and 500 mm deep. The power consumption is 2,650 W at 230 V and 50 or 60 Hz, and the permissible duty cycle is 100 %. Ambient temperatures of 5 to 40 °C at no more than 80 % relative humidity are permissible, and the protection class is IP 21. A calibration option is available, and the cooling coil is connected via NW 8.

Protection and software

The safety circuit ranges from 0 to 260 °C and is set with the screwdriver included. The level protection responds to too little and too much medium, and warnings are visual and audible. The device is classified as class III with FL. RS 232 and Micro-USB are used for control with labworldsoft and for the online update of the device software.

Selection guide

The same filling volume of 8 to 11 l with colour TFT display, timer and removable wireless display is offered by the HBC 10 control. If 5 to 7 l is enough for you, choose the HBC 5 basic. For a package of bridge circulator and separate bath, the IC basic pro 20 c comes into question.
