IKA KS 260 control Circular Shaker with End-point Positioning, Stroke 10 mm, 7.5 kg, 0002980300

Product information "IKA KS 260 control Circular Shaker with End-point Positioning, Stroke 10 mm, 7.5 kg, 0002980300"

Anyone wishing to have samples taken by a robot needs a shaker that can handle this. The IKA KS 260 control (0002980300) features integrated end-point positioning for this purpose, enabling automated, robot-controlled sampling. This compact, low-profile circular shaker has a shaking stroke of 10 mm, a platform measuring 320 x 320 mm and can accommodate up to 7.5 kg, including the attachment.

Platform, stroke and load capacity

The motion is circular, with a stroke of 10 mm. Depending on the attachment used, vessels of various sizes and shapes can be accommodated on the 320 x 320 mm platform; the permissible shaking load of 7.5 kg includes the attachment. The unit is 360 mm wide, 98 mm high and 420 mm deep, and weighs 8.8 kg. It therefore sits flat on the laboratory bench and can also be used where there is limited headroom. The shaker can be locked in place. The permissible duty cycle is 100 per cent, meaning the shaker may run continuously.

Electronic adjustment of speed and timer

Speed and time are set electronically and displayed on LED readouts. The speed range is from 10 to 500 rpm. The timer runs from 1 minute to 5,999 minutes (99 hours and 59 minutes); alternatively, the unit can run continuously. An RS-232 interface is provided for external control and documentation, along with an analogue output. The motor power is 45 W input and 10 W output.

Typical applications

IKA describes the KS 260 control as being suitable for laboratory applications where samples need to be mixed gently:

  • Gentle mixing of samples in vessels of various sizes and shapes on the 320 × 320 mm platform
  • Automated, robot-controlled sampling with integrated end-point positioning
  • Shaking tasks with electronically adjustable speeds from 10 to 500 rpm
  • Timed runs from 1 minute to 99 hours 59 minutes
  • Continuous operation with a permissible duty cycle of 100 per cent

Selection guide within the KS series

The models in the KS 260 family share the same stroke, platform and shaking weight. They differ in terms of display, timer and positioning. The KS 260 basic has a timer ranging from 5 to 50 minutes and uses LED bars as its display. The KS 260 control NOL has the same performance specifications as the KS 260 control, but no end-point positioning. For smaller loads up to 2 kg, the KS 130 control is available with a 230 x 230 mm platform and a 4 mm stroke.
