Shaking temperature-controlled samples for hours whilst leaving the unit to run unattended: that is what the IKA KS 3000 i control is designed for. According to IKA, the incubation shaker is designed for unattended operation in a temperature-controlled environment. It shakes in a circular motion with a 20 mm stroke at 10 to 500 rpm, heats from room temperature plus 5 K to 80 °C and can hold up to 7.5 kg. The inner chamber has a capacity of 50 l.
Temperature under control
A PID control system with two PT-1000 sensors maintains the setpoint temperature, which is adjustable in increments of 0.1 K. With a sensor in the vessel, the control accuracy is ±0.5 K (1 vessel containing 0.5 l of water, room temperature 22 °C, 37 °C). Temperature stability is ±0.05 K (1 vessel containing 0.5 l, room temperature 25 °C, 37 °C), whilst homogeneity across five vessels, each containing 0.5 l, is ±0.5 K. There is a connection socket for an additional sensor in the working chamber. The sensor supplied is the PT 1000.80, made of stainless steel. The heating power is 1000 W.
Hood, bath and safety features
The lid is made of PMMA; the shaker stops automatically when the lid is opened and switches itself off in the event of a fault. The controls have an antimicrobial coating to reduce bacteria. A drip tray with a drain hose at the rear collects any liquid. Speed and time are shown on a large LED display; the timer ranges from one second to 999 hours, or alternatively, the unit can run continuously.

KS 3000 i control or larger alternatives
The KS 4000 i control offers more space and load capacity, with a chamber measuring 440 x 440 x 352 mm and a shaking load of 20 kg. Like the KS 3000 i control, the KS 260 control NOL has a shaking capacity of 7.5 kg.

As an electrical appliance, the KS 3000 i control must be disposed of via the separate collection scheme for waste electrical equipment after use.
