The IKA RCT basic ready-to-go Solution complete package (MPN 0010016459) is a ready-to-use, perfectly mechatronically coordinated system solution for the simultaneous stirring, mixing and precise temperature control of liquid media. This turnkey all-in-one package combines the globally proven RCT basic laboratory heating magnetic stirrer with the essential measurement and stand accessories for direct temperature control within the sample. For daily routine tasks in chemical synthesis, sample preparation in academic research or in industrial testing laboratories, this pre-configured set offers the ideal starting point for reliable and highly efficient work without the need for additional configuration.
Thermodynamic excellence through Kera-Disk technology
The material-science foundation of the stirring drive is the innovative Kera-Disk base plate, with a diameter of 135 mm. The base plate is made from a highly conductive aluminium alloy, which ensures minimal heating times and absolutely homogeneous temperature distribution across the entire working surface. To protect against mechanical damage and highly corrosive acids, alkalis and solvents, the metal surface is sealed with a non-porous, extremely scratch-resistant ceramic coating. This robust hybrid construction combines the excellent thermal conductivity of metal with the chemical inertness of ceramic, facilitating quick, residue-free cleaning in everyday laboratory use.
Direct temperature control and stable mechanical integration
From a process engineering perspective, the ‘ready-to-go Solution’ is characterised by the direct integration of the supplied PT1000 temperature sensor made of stainless steel. The sensor measures the transient actual values directly within the liquid core of the sample and transmits these to the RCT basic’s integrated microprocessor control system. A highly efficient PID control loop continuously adjusts the heating power, thereby effectively preventing the temperature from overshooting the target value. The robust stand system included in the package, comprising a support rod and cross-sleeve, guarantees vibration-free and vertically precise guidance of the sensor within the medium, which reliably prevents measurement errors caused by accidental contact with the walls or bottom of the vessel.
Hermetic housing seal and uncompromising operational safety
The system’s long-term durability is ensured by a sealed die-cast aluminium housing with IP 42 protection. This structural barrier reliably protects the internal electronic control elements and the powerful magnetic drive against the accidental ingress of spilled media, vapours or dust. A multi-stage safety concept protects laboratory staff during daily use: an independently adjustable safety circuit immediately switches off the 600-watt heating element in the event of an unexpected overheating, whilst a highly visible, optical residual heat indicator (Hot Top Indicator) warns of the risk of burns until the work surface has cooled down to a safe temperature.
