Product information "IKA RCT basic Synthesis Solution 1000 complete magnetic stirrer package, Kera-Disk base, 0010016478"
The IKA RCT basic Synthesis Solution 1000 Complete Package (MPN 0010016478) is a turnkey, highly optimised mechatronic system solution for the precise execution of chemical syntheses and thermal reactions in round-bottom flasks with a volume of up to 1,000 ml. This perfectly coordinated all-in-one package combines the globally recognised RCT basic laboratory heating magnetic stirrer with a specialised synthesis attachment, as well as the necessary measurement and stand accessories. For demanding B2B laboratories in organic chemistry, university research or industrial drug discovery, this eliminates the need for time-consuming individual configuration, whilst simultaneously meeting the highest standards of process reliability and reproducibility in daily, continuous use.
Form-fitting temperature control without hazardous oil baths
The process engineering foundation of this system is the aluminium synthesis block for 1,000 ml round-bottom flasks included in the set, which is positioned directly on the 135 mm Kera-Disk base. The precise geometric adaptation to the shape of the flask ensures perfect, form-fitting heat transfer. This principle completely replaces traditional, fire-hazardous and high-maintenance silicone oil baths in the laboratory. The heating plate’s substrate, made from a highly conductive aluminium alloy, enables short heating times, whilst the non-porous, scratch-resistant ceramic coating (Kera-Disk) reliably protects the work surface from mechanical damage and highly aggressive chemical synthesis reagents.
Direct temperature control within the medium and mechanical stability
From a process engineering perspective, the Synthesis Solution 1000 package ensures uncompromisingly precise temperature control directly within the liquid reaction mixture. The supplied PT1000 stainless steel temperature probe measures the transient actual values at the centre of the flask and transmits these to the highly efficient PID microprocessor of the RCT basic. This effectively prevents the temperature from overshooting the target value. The robust stand system, consisting of a support rod and a boss head, ensures low-vibration, vertically precise positioning of the sensor, which helps to avoid measurement errors caused by unintentional contact with the walls or base of the round-bottom flask.
Closed housing and enhanced safety concept
The long-term durability of the stirring drive is ensured by a sealed die-cast aluminium housing with IP 42 protection, which protects the internal electronic components from solid foreign bodies of 1 mm and above and from vertically falling drops of water. A multi-stage safety concept ensures safe unattended operation: an independently adjustable safety circuit immediately switches off the 600-watt heater in the event of an unexpected over-temperature. In addition, a visual residual heat indicator (Hot Top Indicator) warns laboratory staff of the risk of burns on the work surface until it has cooled down completely.
