Product information "IKA ETS-D7 Wireless Sensor, smart wireless temperature sensor and pH meter, 0025008370"
The IKA ETS-D7 Wireless Sensor (MPN 0025008370) is a highly innovative, mechatronic, high-end wireless system solution for the simultaneous thermal and electrochemical analysis of samples in the modern laboratory. Far more than a conventional measuring transducer, this wireless instrument functions as an intelligent sensor and control centre. It transmits transient temperature data via digital radio transmission (WPAN) over a distance of up to 15 metres to compatible IKA drives, such as the magnetic stirrers of the RET basic and RCT basic series or the Eurostar control stirrers. This technological decoupling completely eliminates disruptive signal cables in the fume cupboard or glovebox and takes occupational safety and mechanical flexibility to a new level.
All-in-one dual measurement technology with integrated BNC interface
An outstanding technical feature of the ETS-D7 is its versatile configuration as a self-contained, stand-alone measuring device. The compact module features an integrated BNC socket, to which an analogue pH electrode can be connected directly. This transforms the temperature sensor into a fully-fledged, portable pH meter without the need for costly additional investment. The integrated, high-contrast TFT touchscreen displays both the temperature readings and the transient pH value with a fine metrological resolution of two decimal places (0.01). This guarantees absolutely error-free and precise readability of all process parameters directly at the physical measurement site.
Smart sensor technology and highly efficient energy management
The wireless sensor’s electronic system architecture stands out thanks to its forward-looking, software-controlled energy management. Using integrated infrared and ambient light sensors, the device automatically detects whether laboratory staff are in the immediate vicinity to read the measurements. The display only activates when actually needed (Auto-Wake) and automatically switches to a deep standby mode when idle, thereby achieving a remarkable battery life of up to 100 hours. For test series requiring continuous visual monitoring, continuous display operation can be flexibly enabled.
Bidirectional connectivity for seamless Industry 4.0 validation
Thanks to a sophisticated bidirectional communication matrix, the ETS-D7 enables full synchronisation of setpoint and actual values in a networked laboratory. Depending on the connected main unit, adjustments to temperature and stirring parameters can be made directly via the sensor’s touch interface. Furthermore, the sensor can be integrated as a second, redundant temperature sensor into critical safety control loops to reliably prevent exothermic incidents. Full compatibility with the labworldsoft (LWS) laboratory software ensures seamless digital recording, centralised control and audit-compliant documentation of all transient measurement curves in accordance with modern quality management standards.
