Five positions, five stirring points, one speed: the IKA RT 5 (0003690600) is a multi-position magnetic stirrer with a heating function for batch testing under reproducible conditions. A silent coil drive system maintains an identical speed at all five positions, with a deviation of 0 per cent between them. The aluminium alloy heating plate reaches temperatures of up to 120 °C.
Five positions, one drive
The stirring positions are spaced 90 mm apart and are arranged over an area of 110 x 495 mm. Up to 0.4 l of water can be stirred per position; stirring rods 25 to 30 mm in length are intended for use. The maximum load is 5 kg. The coil drive is wear-free; the speed is maintained at a constant level during load changes. It can be adjusted in 10-rpm increments between 0 and 1,000 rpm, and the direction of rotation can be reversed. The unit is suitable for continuous operation.
Heating with a foil heater
The foil heating element distributes heat very evenly across the plate; the heating power is 175 W and the heating rate is 3 K per minute (1 l of water, H1500). The surface temperature can be adjusted continuously up to 120 °C; according to IKA, this results in a medium temperature of up to 70 °C, depending on the vessel. The safety limit can be set between 50 and 150 °C. Eco mode keeps surface heating to a minimum; an error code appears on the display. The unit is operated via a membrane keypad, and the heating temperature is set using an LED display.
