IKA S 10 N - 10 G - ST Dispersing Tool, Ø 10 mm, for T 10, 0004446700

Product information "IKA S 10 N - 10 G - ST Dispersing Tool, Ø 10 mm, for T 10, 0004446700"

The working range of the S 10 N - 10 G - ST (0004446700) extends up to 100 ml. The tool has a 10 mm stator and a 7.5 mm rotor and is designed for use with the T-10 series drives. The shaft runs in a PTFE split-ring bearing.

ST for fibrous samples

IKA uses ST tools for the homogenisation of fibrous samples. The immersion depth is 23 to 100 mm, the installation length is 115 mm, and the weight is 0.075 kg.

Gap and speed

The gap between the rotor and stator is 0.25 mm. A maximum speed of 30,000 rpm is permitted, resulting in speeds of up to 11.8 m/s at the rotor circumference. The final particle size is 5 to 25 µm for suspensions and 1 to 10 µm for emulsions.

Material and temperature

The parts in contact with the product are made of PTFE and AISI 316L. The tool is suitable for solvents and abrasive substances; the pH range is from 2 to 13. The short-term operating temperature is up to 180 °C, and sterilisation may be carried out using any method.

Typical applications

  • Disintegration of fibrous samples in volumes of 1 to 100 ml
  • Emulsifying and suspending small batches
  • Working with solvents in the pH range 2 to 13
  • Samples containing abrasive components
  • Processes involving short-term temperatures of up to 180 °C

Scope of delivery

  • 1 x IKA S 10 N - 10 G - ST dispersing tool (single tool)
  • The drive (T 10 basic or T 10 battery) is not included in the Scope of delivery.

Smaller stator or different drive

The S 10 N - 8 G ST is available for 1 to 50 ml and an 8 mm stator, also with 30,000 rpm and the same final fineness grades. The S 25 N - 10 G has the same stator and rotor dimensions as shown here (10 and 7.5 mm); it is designed for T-25 drives, runs at up to 25,000 rpm and reaches 9.8 m/s. Compared with the S 10 N - 8 G ST, the working volume here is up to 100 ml instead of 50 ml. The rotor is larger at 7.5 mm instead of 6.1 mm; at the same speed, the circumferential speed is therefore 11.8 m/s instead of 9.6 m/s.

IKA T 10 basic ULTRA-TURRAX disperser, 0.5 to 100 ml, up to 30,000 rpm, 0003737000
Herstellernummer: 0003737000

The IKA T 10 basic ULTRA-TURRAX is a hand-held disperser for small sample volumes of between 0.5 and 100 millilitres (H₂O). The unit is powered directly from the 230-volt mains supply, requires no battery and is ready for use immediately upon plugging it in. The speed is infinitely variable from 8,000 to 30,000 revolutions per minute, allowing it to process both low-viscosity aqueous samples and thicker emulsions up to 5,000 mPas.Continuously variable speed via the scale displayOn the T 10 basic, the speed is read from a scale on the housing; the battery-powered ‘battery’ version displays it digitally. This is sufficient for a procedure where the same mark can always be selected, and operation remains simple. When plugged in, the unit draws 125 watts, 75 watts of which are delivered to the motor. A duty cycle of 10 minutes followed by a 5-minute pause protects the motor from overheating during longer production runs.Tool change without additional toolsThe arm has a diameter of 8 millimetres and a length of 100 millimetres. The dispersion tool can be removed without any additional tools using the quick-release coupling. Stainless steel dispersion tools are dismantled and cleaned individually for this purpose, whilst the disposable plastic tools, available in two sizes, come ready-assembled from the packaging and are disposed of after use. This reduces the cleaning effort required between two samples and prevents cross-contamination, for example in PCR analysis. No dispersing tool is included in the scope of delivery; it is selected separately to suit the application.Compact and lightweight for manual operationMeasuring 178 millimetres in length, 56 in width and 66 in depth, the T 10 basic fits comfortably in the hand. Weighing 0.61 kilograms, the device can be held for extended periods without causing fatigue; the noise level without an attachment fitted is 65 dB(A).For different mains voltagesIn addition to the standard 230-volt version, IKA also supplies the same unit in 115-volt and 100-volt versions, for countries outside the European mains supply or for branch sites with different mains voltages. The IP 30 protection rating in accordance with DIN EN 60529 and a permissible operating range of between 5 and 40 degrees Celsius at up to 80 per cent relative humidity are sufficient for normal day-to-day laboratory use, although the unit is not designed for use outdoors or in damp rooms.Typical applicationsHomogenisation of small tissue samples prior to further extractionPreparation and fine dispersion of emulsions and suspensions on a micro-scaleSample preparation for PCR analysis using disposable plastic instrumentsRoutine tasks in teaching and training where a robust instrument that does not require battery maintenance is requiredSelection guide: basic or battery? The T 10 basic runs exclusively on mains power and therefore always requires a power socket within reach. For those who wish to use the disperser under a fume cupboard or on the move without a cable, the T 10 battery ULTRA-TURRAX is the battery-powered variant of the same series, albeit with lower motor power and a lower viscosity limit of 200 mPas. For mobile use with suitable accessories, there are also three kits available, such as the T 10 battery Portable Solution or the T 10 battery Tissue Safe Solution with disposable tools for tissue samples.Technical detailsMotor power input / output125 W / 75 WProcessable volume (H₂O)0.5 to 100 mlMax. viscosity5,000 mPasSpeed range8,000 to 30,000 rpm, continuously variableSpeed displayScaleNoise level without tools65 dB(A)Boom diameter / boom length8 mm / 100 mmDuty cycleON 10 mins, OFF 5 minsPermissible ambient temperature / humidity5 to 40 °C / 80 %Protection classIP 30 in accordance with DIN EN 60529Dimensions (W x H x D)56 x 178 x 66 mmWeight0.61 kgPower rating230 V, 50/60 Hz, 125 W (other voltage options: 115 V / 100 V)ContentsT 10 basic ULTRA-TURRAX drive unit, ID No. 0003737000R 200 clamp, ID No. 0003372000A dispersing tool is not included in the scope of delivery and must be selected separately from the range of accessories to suit the application.Regulatory informationThis unit is an electrical appliance within the meaning of the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG).
