Product information "IKA S 25 KV - 26 LR Dissolver Agitator, High Speed, Ø 26 mm, 0020015397"

Maximum efficiency in dissolution and deagglomeration: the IKA S 25 KV - 26 LR dissolver

The IKA S 25 KV - 26 LR dissolver (MPN 0020015397) represents the very pinnacle of modern mixing and dispersion technology for demanding laboratory reactor systems. In many industrial and research sectors – be it in chemical synthesis, cosmetics development, paint production or food technology – users face the significant daily challenge of homogeneously incorporating fine powders, highly cohesive solids or sticky pigments into liquid media. Very often, stubborn agglomerates form when these solids are stirred in. These disruptive clumps of particles are simply moved in circles by conventional agitators such as propeller, paddle or anchor agitators, but are not effectively broken up mechanically. The result is incomplete reactions, poor textures or significantly prolonged process times. This high-speed dissolver was designed precisely for these critical and energy-intensive process steps. It delivers uncompromising performance in intensive mixing, dissolution and deagglomeration to ensure homogeneous, completely lump-free dispersions in the shortest possible time.

The aerodynamic dissolver principle

In direct comparison to a conventional rotor-stator dispersing tool, in which the medium is forced through a very narrow, defined gap between two components, the S 25 KV - 26 LR model utilises a specially serrated dissolver disc with a diameter of 26 millimetres. This solid metal disc rotates freely at extremely high speeds (high speed) within the liquid medium. The sharp teeth on the edge of the disc, which are alternately curved upwards and downwards, generate immense local shear forces and strong turbulence. The rotation accelerates the liquid radially outwards with great force, which simultaneously creates an enormous axial suction effect (vortex formation) at the centre. This intelligent flow pattern draws the floating or agglomerated powder particles from the liquid surface directly downwards towards the rotating toothed disc. There, they are literally shattered by the high kinetic energy of the teeth and broken down into their fine primary particles. In process engineering, this principle is the absolute gold standard method for the rapid incorporation of poorly wettable thickeners, colour pigments or high-molecular-weight polymers into aqueous or highly solvent-based systems.

Vacuum and pressure tightness (the ‘KV’ seal)

Another outstanding feature of this stirring tool, which is indispensable for many applications, is indicated by the specific abbreviation ‘KV’. In IKA products, this stands for a high-quality ball bearing system combined with a special sealing technology that makes the tool absolutely vacuum- and pressure-tight (up to the respective system-specific limits of the laboratory reactors). When working professionally with state-of-the-art laboratory reactors such as the IKA LR 1000 control System or the versatile LR-2.ST series, this leak-tightness is of fundamental importance. Sensitive chemical reactions or the production of high-purity cosmetics and emulsions often require the strict exclusion of oxygen. Users must work under a protective inert gas atmosphere or specifically degas the sample under vacuum to avoid disruptive air pockets in pasty, viscous media. A conventional, open dispersing tool would cause the reactor chamber to leak under these extreme conditions and ruin the process. The S 25 KV - 26 LR dissolver agitator, on the other hand, seals the reactor opening absolutely securely via the flange. This allows you to deagglomerate your samples at full high-speed rotation whilst a strong vacuum is maintained inside the vessel – an enormous technological advantage for process quality.

Material quality, hygiene and compatibility

As this dissolver stirrer is designed for direct, continuous contact with aggressive chemicals, highly abrasive pigments and reactive media, all parts in contact with the media (including the dissolver disc and the shaft) are made from high-quality, chemically extremely resistant AISI 316L stainless steel. This industrially proven material not only guarantees outstanding resistance to most organic solvents, acids and alkalis, but can also be cleaned safely and thoroughly after use, leaving no residue. Thanks to its robust construction, the unit is ideally suited to the rigours of everyday laboratory use. As an original accessory, the S 25 KV - 26 LR is precisely matched to IKA’s reactor platforms. It is fully compatible with the T 25 digital LR disperser, the LR 1000 systems (basic and control) and the entire LR-2.ST series (including Allrounder, High Performer and Starvisc). Investing in this highly specialised tool massively increases the efficiency of your laboratory processes, significantly reduces mixing times and decisively optimises the quality of your end products.

IKA T 25 digital ULTRA-TURRAX disperser, 1 to 2,000 ml, 3,000 to 25,000 rpm, 0003725000
Herstellernummer: 0003725000

A batch of formulation in a beaker, an emulsion in a 500-millilitre flask, a batch of cell suspension for sample preparation: the T 25 digital ULTRA-TURRAX is the classic drive unit for all tasks in everyday laboratory work involving volumes between 1 millilitre and 2 litres. It covers a speed range from 3,000 to 25,000 revolutions per minute and is supplied as a drive unit only, without a dispersing tool, so that each laboratory can choose the appropriate tool geometry itself.Electronic speed control for reproducible batchesThe speed can be adjusted continuously between 3,000 and 25,000 rpm, with a deviation of just 1 per cent. An LED display shows the set value directly, whilst electronic overload protection and an error code display ensure reliable operation. Without an attachment fitted, the unit remains comparatively quiet at 75 dB(A); the maximum viscosity is 5,000 mPas. For batches that alternate between low- and medium-viscosity phases, the speed can be readjusted at any time during the process without switching off the unit.Compact drive for the laboratory benchMeasuring 87 x 271 x 106 millimetres and weighing 2.5 kilograms, the T 25 digital takes up little bench space; the arm measures 13 millimetres in diameter and 160 millimetres in length. The power input is 800 watts, whilst the power output is 500 watts. The unit operates at 220 to 240 volts at 50 or 60 hertz; a voltage variant of 100 to 120 volts is also available. Protection class IP 20 in accordance with DIN EN 60529 and a permissible duty cycle of 100 per cent round off the key technical specifications; the permissible ambient temperature range is from 5 to 40 degrees Celsius with up to 80 per cent relative humidity.Assemble tools and stand as requiredAs no dispersing tool is supplied, each laboratory selects the geometry to suit the application: reusable stainless steel tools such as the S 25 N - 18 G - ST (Ident 0004447300) or the S 25 N - 25 G (Ident 0001713300), as well as disposable plastic tools in two sizes for applications where cross-contamination between samples must be ruled out. The S 25 KV – 25 G dissolver tool (Ident 0002466900) is suitable for more viscous media. For stationary operation, the R 1826 plate stand (ID 0003160100) with R 182 cross-sleeve (ID 0002657700) is available; for cleaning, the TS 25-3 Cleaning Tool (ID 0020003013) or the disposable tube S 18/25-ET50 (ID 0003452500) are suitable for cleaning.Typical applicationsHomogenisation of wastewater samples in environmental analysisDispersion tasks in laboratory reactorsWork under vacuum or pressure with suitable accessoriesSample preparation in medical researchSelection guide: individual drive unit or complete setIf you do not wish to put together the tool and stand separately, you will find the same technology, including accessories, in the T 25 digital Solution. For smaller tasks involving temperature measurement, the T 25 mini control ULTRA-TURRAX is the more compact alternative; for a housing design that is easier to clean, the T 25 easy clean digital is the choice. IKA T 25 easy clean digital ULTRA-TURRAX disperser, 1 to 2,000 ml, 3,000 to 25,000 rpm, 0025002560
Herstellernummer: 0025002560

The T 25 easy clean digital ULTRA-TURRAX is the drive unit in the IKA T 25 easy clean series, designed for laboratories that need to clean quickly and thoroughly between batches. The tool can be opened for cleaning without having to completely dismantle the rotor-stator unit, which saves time when changing products frequently and prevents cross-contamination. A dispersing tool is not included with the unit; it is selected separately to suit the specific application. The easy-clean principle in practiceTools in the easy-clean series are identified by the abbreviation ‘EC’ in their name and can be opened for cleaning without the need to dismantle the entire drive unit. This saves users the time-consuming process of changing tools and completely dismantling the unit when, for example, they are processing a cosmetic emulsion in the morning and a different formulation in the afternoon. A brushless DC motor drives the tool, which reduces carbon dust in the cleanroom and keeps operation comparatively quiet at 70 dB(A) when no tool is fitted.Display, timer and operationThe speed is shown on an LED display and can be adjusted continuously between 3,000 and 25,000 revolutions per minute with a tolerance of 2 per cent. A built-in timer with its own LED display manages recurring process times, meaning a batch does not need to be stopped manually. A micro-USB interface is provided for connection to labworldsoft, via which parameters can be documented.Performance data and mechanical designWith a power consumption of 500 watts and an output power of 400 watts, the unit processes volumes of 1 to 2,000 millilitres of water and media with a viscosity of up to 5,000 mPas. The arm measures 13 millimetres in diameter and 160 millimetres in length; the housing is protected against dust and coarse foreign particles to IP 30 in accordance with DIN EN 60529 and is designed for a 100 per cent duty cycle. The unit operates on a mains supply of 220 to 240 volts; for locations outside the European mains supply, a 100 to 120-volt version is available on request.Documentation and ConformityThe unit comes with its own EU Declaration of Conformity available for download, as well as a data sheet in PDF format. The operating instructions cover not only this drive unit but also the ‘control’ variant of the T-25 easy-clean series and are available in 14 languages, ranging from German and English to Chinese, Thai and Korean. This means that the same set of instructions can be used at multiple workstations in locations with an international workforce.Typical applicationsThe wide speed range and the ‘easy-clean’ cleaning system make the unit particularly attractive in situations where there are frequent changes between different samples.Homogenisation of medical and pharmaceutical samples with frequent product changesEmulsification of cosmetic formulations on a laboratory scaleSuspending paints and coatingsDispersing under vacuum or pressure in conjunction with an IKA laboratory reactorSelection guide: digital or control, single unit or set?If you do not require temperature measurement, this digital drive unit is a good choice. If the sample temperature needs to be monitored during dispersion – for example, with heat-sensitive formulations – the T 25 easy clean control ULTRA-TURRAX is a better option; it measures temperatures between 0 and 125 degrees Celsius via an RFID-enabled tool. If you do not yet own a dispersing tool, the T 25 easy clean digital Solution saves you the trouble of selecting a separate tool; the set comes complete with the tool, stand and cross-coupling. For more compact applications with Wi-Fi connectivity and smaller volumes, the T 25 mini control ULTRA-TURRAX is also available; for larger volumes requiring higher performance, the T 25 digital ULTRA-TURRAX is the ideal choice.Technical detailsThe following table summarises the key specifications for the drive, operation and connections, as specified by IKA for the digital version of the T 25 easy clean series.Motor power input / output500 W / 400 WProcessable volume (H₂O)1 to 2,000 mlMax. viscosity5,000 mPasSpeed range3,000 to 25,000 rpm, continuously variable (2% deviation)Speed displayLEDMotor typebrushless, direct currentNoise level without tools70 dB(A)Boom diameter / boom length13 mm / 160 mmTimerYes, LED displayPermissible duty cycle100 %Permissible ambient temperature / humidity5 to 40 °C / 80 %Protection classIP 30 in accordance with DIN EN 60529USB interfaceMicro-USBPower rating220 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz, 500 W (alternative voltage option: 100 to 120 V)Dimensions (W x H x D)89 x 270 x 161 mmWeight3 kgContentsT 25 easy clean digital ULTRA-TURRAX drive unitUSB cable, USB A to Micro-B, 2 mA dispersing tool is not included in the scope of delivery and must be selected separately to suit the application.Regulatory informationThis device is an electrical appliance within the meaning of the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG). IKA Laborreaktor LR-2.ST Starvisc 200, Messrührer mit Drehmoment- und Viskositätsmessung
IKA LR-2.ST Starvisc 200 Laboratory Reactor, Measuring Stirrer, 0020020603
Herstellernummer: 0020020603

Anyone developing a chemical reaction on a laboratory scale and later wanting to transfer it to a larger scale needs more than a stirrer display that only reports a trend. The IKA LR-2.ST Starvisc 200 laboratory reactor measures torque and viscosity directly at the STARVISC 200-2.5 control measuring stirrer while the reaction is running, not afterwards on a separate viscometer. This distinguishes it from the four other versions of the LR-2.ST series, which work with EUROSTAR stirrers and a general torque trend display but provide no calibrated measurement. For high-viscosity media up to 100,000 mPas and working volumes of 500 to 2,000 ml, the system therefore delivers reproducible measured values for process development instead of just a rough estimate. The complete stand system is supplied: the LR.SI base component, the HEAD,REACTOR,LR2.10 reactor lid and the STARVISC 200-2.5 control measuring stirrer. The reactor vessel itself is not included in the scope of delivery. The glass vessel is ordered separately to match the required working volume. This applies equally to all five variants of the LR-2.ST series and should be planned for with the first order of a system.True torque and viscosity measurement during the reactionThe STARVISC 200-2.5 control measures torque and the viscosity derived from it in a calibrated way at the stirring shaft, with a maximum value of 200 Ncm. This is exactly what makes the difference from the general torque trend display of the other LR-2.ST variants: there the display shows whether the torque is rising or falling, here there is a reliable measured value that can be documented and taken into an evaluation. For product development in which viscosity profiles during a reaction (for example in polymerisations or when resins cure) decide the process quality, this is the real reason to buy this model within the series. The minimum speed of 6 rpm additionally allows very slow stirring when a reaction tolerates only little shear energy.Temperature range, working volume and vacuum operationThe working volume is between 500 and 2,000 ml. With a dispersing tool, at least 800 ml should be in the vessel so that the shearing action does not run into empty space. The working temperature ranges from -50 to 230 °C, and the telescopic stand has a stroke of 390 mm for different vessel sizes and set-ups. Vacuum operation down to 25 mbar is possible, for example for degassing media or for reactions that are to take place at reduced pressure. The product-contacting parts of the system itself are made of borosilicate glass, FFPM, PTFE and steel 1.4571. The reactor lid has three NS 29/32 openings and two NS 14/23 openings for sensors, additions or a reflux condenser.Reproducibility and documentation of the measured valuesFor process development, besides the measured value itself, it also matters that a stirring experiment can later be repeated identically. Because the STARVISC 200-2.5 control records torque and viscosity continuously, a batch can be evaluated over time and compared with later batches, instead of merely noting a subjective assessment of the stirrer display. When transferring laboratory results to a larger scale, this traceability is often more important than a single measurement, because deviations between two batches only show up in comparison. For laboratories with documented equipment qualification, factory calibration certificates and IQ/OQ documents for the system are also available, see the section on the procurement service. Especially when comparing different recipes or batches, the system thus provides an objective basis on which decisions in the laboratory can be founded, instead of relying on the impression of a single person at the stirrer.Typical applicationsOptimisation and reproduction of chemical reaction, mixing and homogenising processes on a laboratory scaleProduct development requiring documented torque and viscosity measurement during the reaction, for example with polymerisations, resins or adhesivesProcessing of high-viscosity media up to 100,000 mPasReactions under vacuum or reduced pressure, for example for degassingScale-up preparatory work before moving to a larger production scaleSelection guide within the LR-2.ST familyThe LR-2.ST series is available in five versions with the same stand system and reactor lid, but different stirrers. If a pure trend display is sufficient and higher torque for very viscous media is wanted instead, the LR-2.ST the High-Performer is the more suitable choice. For applications with lower viscosity requirements and a smaller budget, the LR-2.ST the Allrounder, the LR-2.ST the Versatile and the LR-2.ST the Compact Power are available. The STARVISC 200-2.5 control measuring stirrer is also available separately as a replacement or retrofit part if required.Technical detailsWorking volume500 to 2,000 mlWorking volume with dispersing toolat least 800 mlWorking temperature-50 to 230 °CAchievable vacuum25 mbarMax. viscosity100,000 mPasMin. speed6 rpmTelescopic stand stroke390 mmProduct-contacting materialBorosilicate glass, FFPM, PTFE, steel 1.4571Reactor vessel openings3 x NS 29/32, 2 x NS 14/23Max. torque at the stirring shaft200 NcmPermissible ambient temperature range5 to 40 °CPermissible relative humidity80 %Dimensions (W x H x D)670 x 1240 x 580 mmWeight25 kgScope of delivery1 x LR-2.ST stand system1 x LR.SI base and stand component1 x HEAD,REACTOR,LR2.10 reactor lid1 x STARVISC 200-2.5 control torque measuring stirrerThe reactor vessel is not part of the scope of delivery. The glass vessel is ordered separately to match the required working volume, as are accessories such as stirring elements for other applications, temperature probes, a vacuum pump or a circulating thermostat, if these are not yet available.Use and maintenanceThe system weighs 25 kg and belongs on a stable, level work surface with sufficient load capacity. Before each vacuum operation, a brief visual check of the standard ground joint connections at the lid is worthwhile, as a leak otherwise costs vacuum performance. The permissible ambient temperature range is 5 to 40 °C, the permissible relative humidity 80 %. After stirring high-viscosity or sticky media, the measuring stirrer can be detached from the lid for cleaning without dismantling the entire stand system. When changing between media of different viscosity, it makes sense to check the measuring stirrer for residues before the next batch, because dried-on residues can falsify the torque measurement. At the end of its service life, the system belongs, as electrical equipment, in the separate collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment, not in household waste.Individual requirements and procurement serviceFor the LR-2.ST Starvisc 200, IKA offers an extensive accessory range: reactor vessels in different volumes, further stirring elements such as anchor stirrers or baffles, dispersing tools of the T 25 series, pH and temperature probes, vacuum pumps and controllers, and circulating thermostats for active temperature control. Factory calibration certificates and IQ/OQ documentation are also available if required. Through our procurement service, LT Laborhandel supports you in putting together the right reactor vessel and further components for your LR-2.ST system. In making the selection we take into account the planned working volume, type of medium and process temperature, so that vessel and drive match each other.Frequently asked questionsIs a reactor vessel included in the scope of delivery? No. The Starvisc 200 is supplied as a stand system with base component, reactor lid and measuring stirrer. IKA Laborreaktor LR-2.ST the Compact Power, 500 bis 2000 ml, bis 50.000 mPas
IKA LR-2.ST the Compact Power Laboratory Reactor, 500 to 2000 ml, up to 50,000 mPas, 20013294
Herstellernummer: 0020013294

High-viscosity media such as gels, pastes, melts or concentrated polymer solutions can hardly be mixed reliably with classic magnetic stirrers. The IKA LR-2.ST the Compact Power laboratory reactor (MPN 20013294) is the most compact and most affordable version of the LR-2.ST reactor platform and processes media with a viscosity of up to 50,000 mPas at a working volume of 500 to 2000 millilitres. This laboratory reactor is therefore suitable for laboratories that need reliable stirring, mixing and homogenising processes at medium to high viscosity without investing straight away in the more powerful configurations of the series. As a modularly configured reactor platform, it is designed for reproducibility, an important criterion when a recipe is later to be produced on a larger scale. Microprocessor-controlled stirrer with torque trend display The LR-2.SI stand system carries the supplied EUROSTAR 60 control laboratory stirrer, which covers a speed range of 8 to 290 revolutions per minute continuously and provides a maximum torque of 60 Ncm at the stirring shaft. The microprocessor-controlled regulation keeps the set speed constant even as the load increases, while the integrated torque trend display makes changes in viscosity in the stirred material visible, for example when a gel forms during a reaction or a solid dissolves. Borosilicate glass reactor vessel for vacuum and temperature changes The 2.0-litre borosilicate glass reactor vessel is designed for a working volume of 500 to 2000 millilitres and operates in a temperature range from room temperature to 230 degrees Celsius at an achievable vacuum of 25 mbar. The LR2.10 reactor lid offers three openings in standard ground joint NS 29/32 and two openings in standard ground joint NS 14/23, through which temperature probes, reflux condensers or further accessories can be introduced gas-tight. Seals made of FFPM (perfluoroelastomer) ensure that even aggressive solvents and the full temperature span of the system have no effect on tightness. Compact format for set-up in the fume hood With dimensions of 460 x 1240 x 430 millimetres, a telescopic foot stroke of 390 millimetres and a weight of around 25 kilograms, the Compact Power can also be set up in fume hoods with limited space. The detachable wireless control unit (WiCo) makes it possible to monitor and control the speed and stirring process from outside the fume hood, so users do not have to stand directly at the device when stirring hazardous or volatile media. Permissible ambient temperatures are 5 to 40 degrees Celsius at a relative humidity of a maximum of 80 per cent. Expandable via the free lid openings The five openings in total in the reactor lid are not reserved only for temperature probes. Depending on the experimental set-up, dispersing tools, reflux condensers, dropping funnels or gas inlet and outlet lines can also be introduced through the standard ground joints. The Compact Power therefore remains usable even when an experiment requires additional sensors or a continuous gas atmosphere in the course of the project, without a completely new reactor set-up being necessary. Entry to the LR-2.ST platform without compromises in process safety The Compact Power shares the stand system, the reactor vessel and the safety equipment with the more powerful LR-2.ST versions the Versatile, the Allrounder and the High-Performer, which are designed for higher viscosities of up to 70,000, 100,000 and 150,000 mPas respectively. If it is foreseeable that future batches will consistently stay within the range up to 50,000 mPas, this basic version saves money compared with the higher torque levels of the series, without having to compromise on glass quality, vacuum resistance or operating concept. The Compact Power can thus be understood as a solid entry-level platform into the world of high-viscosity reactors, which can be scaled up within the same series as requirements grow, without having to learn a new stand system or operating logic. Typical applications The LR-2.ST the Compact Power is used wherever medium-viscosity to viscous media must be stirred or mixed in a controlled way on a laboratory scale: Homogenising creams, gels and emulsions in cosmetics development Stirring and temperature-controlling viscous formulations in pharmaceutical development Chemical syntheses with rising viscosity during the reaction, for example in polymerisations Vacuum-assisted degassing of solutions and dispersions before further processing Scale-up preliminary trials on a laboratory scale before a process is transferred to larger production reactors Formulation development in which recipes with different final viscosities are compared Practical courses and further training in which students or new employees learn how to handle reactor systems Technical details Working volume500 to 2000 ml Min. volume with dispersing tool800 ml Speed range8 to 290 rpm Max. torque at the stirring shaft60 Ncm Max. viscosity50,000 mPas Working temperature rangeRoom temperature to 230 °C Achievable vacuum25 mbar Material (media-contacting parts)Borosilicate glass, stainless steel 1.4571, PTFE, FFPM Reactor lid connections3 x NS 29/32, 2 x NS 14/23 Dimensions (W x H x D)460 x 1240 x 430 mm Telescopic foot stroke390 mm Weightapprox. 25 kg Permissible ambient temperature5 to 40 °C Permissible relative humiditymax. 80 % ControlMicroprocessor-controlled, with torque trend display Remote controlDetachable wireless control unit (WiCo) Scope of delivery 1 x LR-2.SI stand system 1 x LR2.10 reactor lid 1 x Borosilicate glass reactor vessel, 2.0 litres 1 x Anchor stirrer 1 x EUROSTAR 60 control laboratory stirrer 1 x Wireless control unit (WiCo) Individual requirements and procurement service To extend the LR-2.ST the Compact Power into an individual reactor solution, we support you through our procurement service, for example with additional reactor vessels, temperature probes, reflux condensers or dispersing tools for the free openings of the reactor lid. IKA Laborreaktor LR-2.ST the Versatile, 500 bis 2000 ml, bis 70.000 mPas
IKA LR-2.ST the Versatile Laboratory Reactor, 500 to 2000 ml, up to 70,000 mPas, 20013293
Herstellernummer: 0020013293

Not every batch in the laboratory has the same consistency from start to finish: a solution can be thin at the beginning and become considerably more viscous in the course of a reaction or during evaporation. The IKA LR-2.ST the Versatile laboratory reactor (MPN 20013293) is designed for exactly this range and processes media up to a viscosity of 70,000 mPas at a working volume of 500 to 2000 millilitres. As the middle configuration of the LR-2.ST reactor platform, it offers more torque reserve than the basic version the Compact Power, without yet reaching the price level of the high-viscosity variant the High-Performer. It is therefore aimed above all at laboratories whose batches are not consistently at the limit of the series but vary in viscosity over the duration of the project. EUROSTAR 100 control: more torque reserve for changing viscosities Instead of the EUROSTAR 60 control of the basic version, the Versatile is factory-fitted with the EUROSTAR 100 control laboratory stirrer, which delivers a maximum torque of 100 Ncm at the stirring shaft. The speed range of 8 to 290 revolutions per minute remains identical to the rest of the series, so process parameters from trials with other LR-2.ST versions can be transferred directly. The microprocessor-controlled speed regulation keeps the speed constant even when the viscosity in the reactor rises noticeably. Reactor vessel with vacuum operation and wide temperature window The 2.0-litre borosilicate glass reactor vessel covers a working volume of 500 to 2000 millilitres and operates in a temperature range from room temperature to 230 degrees Celsius at an achievable vacuum of 25 mbar. Temperature probes, reflux condensers or dispersing tools can be connected via the three openings in standard ground joint NS 29/32 and two more in standard ground joint NS 14/23 in the LR2.10 reactor lid. FFPM seals (perfluoroelastomer) withstand both solvent vapours and the full temperature range. Compact stand system with detachable remote control With dimensions of 460 x 1240 x 430 millimetres, a telescopic foot stroke of 390 millimetres and a weight of around 25 kilograms, the Versatile fits the same footprint as the other LR-2.ST versions. The detachable wireless control unit WiCo makes it possible to observe and adjust the speed and stirring process from outside the fume hood, which reduces direct contact at the device, particularly for batches with volatile or toxic media. Permissible ambient temperatures are 5 to 40 degrees Celsius at a maximum of 80 per cent relative humidity, values that can easily be maintained in an air-conditioned laboratory room or under a fume hood. Expandable via five lid openings The LR2.10 reactor lid provides a total of five standard ground joint openings, through which, depending on the experiment, additional sensors, a reflux condenser, a dropping funnel or a gas inlet and outlet line can be connected. The same basic set-up can therefore be used for different test series without having to buy a separate reactor for each configuration, a practical advantage when a laboratory develops several formulations in parallel and sensors are to be moved between batches. Flexibly positioned within the LR-2.ST series Within the four LR-2.ST versions, the Versatile, with a maximum viscosity of 70,000 mPas and 100 Ncm torque, fills the gap between the entry-level variant the Compact Power (50,000 mPas, 60 Ncm) and the more broadly positioned the Allrounder (100,000 mPas, 200 Ncm). For laboratories that regularly work with medium-viscosity to viscous formulations but rarely reach the limit of 100,000 mPas, the Versatile is therefore often closer to the actual requirement than the more powerful versions in the series, which is also reflected in the purchase price compared with the Allrounder and the High-Performer. Typical applications The LR-2.ST the Versatile is particularly suitable for applications with changing or hard-to-predict viscosity during a batch: Stirring reaction batches whose viscosity rises noticeably in the course of the reaction Formulation development in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals with intermediates of varying viscosity Homogenising dispersions and emulsions before filling or further processing Vacuum-assisted degassing of viscous media before a subsequent process step Comparative test series in which several recipes with different final viscosities are tested Transfer of laboratory results towards larger production reactors in scale-up projects Materials research in which additives are stirred step by step into a base matrix and the viscosity rises steadily as a result Quality control in which batches of different consistency are tested under identical stirring conditions Technical details Working volume500 to 2000 ml Speed range8 to 290 rpm Max. torque at the stirring shaft100 Ncm Max. viscosity70,000 mPas Working temperature rangeRoom temperature to 230 °C Achievable vacuum25 mbar Material (media-contacting parts)Borosilicate glass, stainless steel 1.4571, PTFE, FFPM Reactor lid connections3 x NS 29/32, 2 x NS 14/23 Dimensions (W x H x D)460 x 1240 x 430 mm Telescopic foot stroke390 mm Weightapprox. 25 kg Permissible ambient temperature5 to 40 °C Permissible relative humiditymax. 80 % ControlMicroprocessor-controlled, with torque trend display Remote controlDetachable wireless control unit (WiCo) Scope of delivery 1 x LR-2.SI stand system 1 x LR2.10 reactor lid 1 x Borosilicate glass reactor vessel, 2.0 litres 1 x Anchor stirrer 1 x EUROSTAR 100 control laboratory stirrer 1 x Wireless control unit (WiCo) Individual requirements and procurement service For the LR-2.ST the Versatile we support you through our procurement service with additional accessories such as further reactor vessels, temperature probes or dispersing tools for the free lid openings. If it turns out during the project that a higher or lower torque level of the LR-2.ST series is a better fit, we are also happy to advise you on switching within the platform. IKA LR-2.ST the High-Performer Laboratory Reactor, 500 to 2000 ml, up to 150,000 mPas, 20013291
Herstellernummer: 0020013291

Tough melts, concentrated polymer solutions or pasty adhesive formulations push many laboratory stirrers to their limits long before the actual recipe is finished. The IKA LR-2.ST the High-Performer laboratory reactor (MPN 20013291) is the most powerful version of the LR-2.ST reactor platform and processes media with a viscosity of up to 150,000 mPas at a working volume of 500 to 2000 millilitres. It is aimed at laboratories that regularly work with extremely high-viscosity media and need a noticeably higher torque reserve than the other three versions of the series offer. As the top configuration of the platform, it shares the reactor vessel, stand system and safety concept with the smaller variants, but differs significantly from them in the drive design. Highest torque level in the LR-2.ST series The High-Performer is fitted with the most powerful laboratory stirrer of the LR-2.ST platform and covers a maximum viscosity of 150,000 mPas, considerably more than the 100,000 mPas of the Allrounder and the 50,000 and 70,000 mPas of the two smaller versions. The speed range of 8 to 290 revolutions per minute remains consistent within the series, so process parameters can still be compared between the four LR-2.ST versions. The microprocessor-controlled regulation keeps the speed stable even when a medium thickens or hardens noticeably in the course of the reaction. Reactor vessel and lid as in the rest of the series The 2.0-litre borosilicate glass reactor vessel is designed for a working volume of 500 to 2000 millilitres and operates in a temperature range from room temperature to 230 degrees Celsius at an achievable vacuum of 25 mbar. The LR2.10 reactor lid offers three openings in standard ground joint NS 29/32 and two more in standard ground joint NS 14/23 for temperature probes, reflux condensers or further accessories. FFPM seals (perfluoroelastomer) ensure reliable sealing is maintained even under the high mechanical loads caused by viscous media and across the entire temperature range of the system. Compact stand system for the strongest drive in the series With dimensions of 460 x 1240 x 430 millimetres, a telescopic foot stroke of 390 millimetres and a weight of around 25 kilograms, the High-Performer takes up no more space than the other LR-2.ST versions despite the stronger drive. The detachable wireless control unit WiCo allows control from outside the fume hood, which provides additional distance from the reactor when stirring particularly viscous or chemically aggressive media. Permissible ambient temperatures are 5 to 40 degrees Celsius at a maximum of 80 per cent relative humidity, values that a normally air-conditioned laboratory room generally meets. Five lid openings for additional sensors The High-Performer also offers a total of five standard ground joint openings via the LR2.10 reactor lid. Particularly with very viscous or hardening media, close temperature monitoring at several points of the reactor is often useful, as is the connection of a gas inlet and outlet line if inert gas is to be introduced during the reaction or solvent vapour is to be removed. The free openings can be fitted flexibly with suitable accessories for this purpose. For the most demanding viscosities in the series Where the Compact Power, the Versatile and the Allrounder reach their limit at 50,000, 70,000 and 100,000 mPas respectively, the High-Performer is designed for media that must still be stirred in a controlled way beyond these values, for example highly concentrated polymer solutions, hot-melt adhesives or pasty formulations shortly before their final consistency. If a project is likely to involve viscosities regularly in the six-figure mPas range, this version saves the later switch from a smaller LR-2.ST variant. Typical applications The LR-2.ST the High-Performer is suitable for stirring and mixing tasks at the upper end of the viscosity spectrum, where other laboratory reactors reach their performance limit: Processing highly concentrated polymer solutions and polymer melts on a laboratory scale Homogenising adhesives, sealants and other pasty formulations Chemical syntheses with a strong rise in viscosity towards the end of the reaction, for example in polycondensations Materials research on high-viscosity formulations shortly before their final consistency Scale-up preliminary trials for production processes in which extremely viscous media already arise in the laboratory Special applications in which smaller LR-2.ST versions are no longer sufficient because of an insufficient torque reserve Research on hot-melt systems and other masses that are solid at room temperature and highly viscous when warm Quality assurance on high-viscosity batches shortly before release, when consistency is to be tested close to production conditions Technical details Working volume500 to 2000 ml Speed range8 to 290 rpm Max. viscosity150,000 mPas Working temperature rangeRoom temperature to 230 °C Achievable vacuum25 mbar Material (media-contacting parts)Borosilicate glass, stainless steel 1.4571, PTFE, FFPM Reactor lid connections3 x NS 29/32, 2 x NS 14/23 Dimensions (W x H x D)460 x 1240 x 430 mm Telescopic foot stroke390 mm Weightapprox. 25 kg Permissible ambient temperature5 to 40 °C Permissible relative humiditymax. 80 % ControlMicroprocessor-controlled, with torque trend display Remote controlDetachable wireless control unit (WiCo) Scope of delivery 1 x LR-2.SI stand system 1 x LR2.10 reactor lid 1 x Borosilicate glass reactor vessel, 2.0 litres 1 x Anchor stirrer 1 x Laboratory stirrer of the highest power level in the LR-2.ST series 1 x Wireless control unit (WiCo) Individual requirements and procurement service For the High-Performer we offer additional accessories through our procurement service, for example further reactor vessels, temperature probes or dispersing tools for the free lid openings. IKA LR-2.ST the Allrounder Laboratory Reactor, 500 to 2000 ml, up to 100,000 mPas, 20013292
Herstellernummer: 0020013292

A laboratory that works on formulations from very different projects can rarely predict which viscosity the next batch will bring. The IKA LR-2.ST the Allrounder laboratory reactor (MPN 20013292) is the version with the broadest coverage within the LR-2.ST reactor platform and processes media up to a viscosity of 100,000 mPas at a working volume of 500 to 2000 millilitres. It thus covers most of the viscosity ranges found in practice and is particularly suitable for laboratories that are not tied to a single product category but switch between very different recipes over the course of a project. EUROSTAR 200 control for high viscosities The Allrounder is factory-fitted with the EUROSTAR 200 control laboratory stirrer, which delivers a maximum torque of 200 Ncm at the stirring shaft, more than three times that of the entry-level version the Compact Power. The speed range of 8 to 290 revolutions per minute matches that of the other LR-2.ST versions, so process data can be compared within the series. The microprocessor-controlled regulation keeps the speed stable even with viscous, high-viscosity media and, via the integrated torque trend display, shows how the consistency of the stirred material changes during the process. Reactor vessel with vacuum operation down to 25 mbar The 2.0-litre borosilicate glass reactor vessel operates in a temperature range from room temperature to 230 degrees Celsius and is designed for a working volume of 500 to 2000 millilitres. The LR2.10 reactor lid provides three openings in standard ground joint NS 29/32 and two more in standard ground joint NS 14/23, through which, for example, a temperature probe, a reflux condenser or a dispersing tool can be connected. Seals made of FFPM (perfluoroelastomer) provide for vacuum operation down to 25 mbar and are both chemically resistant and durable across the entire temperature span of the system. Compact design despite high torque reserve Despite the stronger drive compared with the Compact Power and the Versatile, the Allrounder, with dimensions of 460 x 1240 x 430 millimetres, a telescopic foot stroke of 390 millimetres and a weight of around 25 kilograms, remains just as compact as the other LR-2.ST versions. The detachable wireless control unit WiCo can be operated from outside the fume hood, which reduces direct contact with the reactor when stirring critical media. Permissible ambient temperatures are 5 to 40 degrees Celsius at a maximum of 80 per cent relative humidity, conditions that are generally met in a normally air-conditioned laboratory room without additional measures. Five lid openings for individual experimental set-ups Through the five standard ground joint openings in total of the LR2.10 reactor lid, additional temperature probes, a dropping funnel, a gas inlet and outlet line or a dispersing tool can be introduced depending on the test series. Since the Allrounder is intended for a broad range of applications anyway, it benefits particularly from this flexibility: a laboratory can keep using the same basic set-up for very different projects instead of buying a separate reactor for each new application. This versatility pays off noticeably, especially in contract laboratories with changing customer projects. Broad coverage as the most frequently chosen configuration in the series With a maximum viscosity of 100,000 mPas, the Allrounder covers considerably more applications than the Compact Power (50,000 mPas) and the Versatile (70,000 mPas), but remains below the High-Performer in price, which is designed for viscosities up to 150,000 mPas. For laboratories that do not know definitively which consistency future batches will reach, this middle-to-upper configuration of the LR-2.ST series therefore often offers the most practical balance between investment cost and reserve for unexpectedly viscous media. Typical applications The LR-2.ST the Allrounder is suitable for a broad range of stirring and mixing tasks with medium to high viscosity, regardless of the respective product class: Chemical syntheses in which the viscosity changes significantly during the reaction Production and homogenising of adhesives, sealants and similarly viscous formulations Cosmetics and pharmaceutical development with creams, gels and highly concentrated emulsions Vacuum-assisted degassing of viscous media before filling or further processing Multi-project laboratories in which changing product classes with different consistencies are handled Scale-up preliminary trials in which the later production viscosity is to be reproduced on a laboratory scale Practical courses and in-house training in which a single reactor is used for several different exercise batches Contract development with changing customer projects and correspondingly different product viscosities Technical details Working volume500 to 2000 ml Speed range8 to 290 rpm Max. torque at the stirring shaft200 Ncm Max. viscosity100,000 mPas Working temperature rangeRoom temperature to 230 °C Achievable vacuum25 mbar Material (media-contacting parts)Borosilicate glass, stainless steel 1.4571, PTFE, FFPM Reactor lid connections3 x NS 29/32, 2 x NS 14/23 Dimensions (W x H x D)460 x 1240 x 430 mm Telescopic foot stroke390 mm Weightapprox. 25 kg Permissible ambient temperature5 to 40 °C Permissible relative humiditymax. 80 % ControlMicroprocessor-controlled, with torque trend display Remote controlDetachable wireless control unit (WiCo) Scope of delivery 1 x LR-2.SI stand system 1 x LR2.10 reactor lid 1 x Borosilicate glass reactor vessel, 2.0 litres 1 x Anchor stirrer 1 x EUROSTAR 200 control laboratory stirrer 1 x Wireless control unit (WiCo) Individual requirements and procurement service For the Allrounder we offer supplementary accessories through our procurement service, for example additional reactor vessels, temperature probes or dispersing tools for the free lid openings.
