Product information "IKA S 25 N - 10 G - ST Dispersing tool, sawtooth, Ø 10 mm, 1–100 ml, 0004447100"

Effective on tough samples: IKA S 25 N - 10 G - ST dispersing tool

The IKA S 25 N - 10 G - ST dispersing tool (MPN 0004447100) is the solution for laboratories that regularly struggle with the homogenisation of viscous, fibrous or difficult-to-process materials. Designed as a high-performance attachment for the tried-and-tested IKA T 25 dispersing drives (e.g. T 25 digital), this tool has been specifically developed to prevent the dreaded clogging of the rotor.

The innovation: sawtooth geometry (“ST”)

What makes this tool special lies in the stator, which features an aggressive saw-tooth contour.

  • Pre-cutting effect: Before the sample enters the actual shear gap, the sharp edges tear and cut through the tough structures.
  • Continuous workflow: The wrapping of the shaft by tendons, plant fibres or polymer strands is effectively prevented. You can digest your samples in a fraction of the time, often without having to laboriously chop them up with a scalpel beforehand.

The happy medium (“10 G”)

With a stator diameter of 10 mm, this tool bridges the gap between micro-attachments and large standard tools.

  • Volume range: It homogenises volumes from 1 ml to 100 ml (H₂O). This makes it the perfect all-rounder for centrifuge tubes (e.g. 15 ml or 50 ml Falcon tubes) and small beakers.
  • Coarse (“G”): The slot width ensures high throughput and rapid primary comminution. Yet, with speeds of up to 25,000 rpm, you can still achieve very fine particle sizes.

High-quality materials (“N”)

The tool features a chemically highly resistant PTFE bearing (“N”).

  • Easy to clean: After use, the dispersing tool can be dismantled into its individual parts in just a few simple steps for manual cleaning or sterilisation.
  • Hygienic: All components in contact with the medium are made of high-quality stainless steel (AISI 316L) and PTFE. It is fully autoclavable at 121 °C.

Areas of application

  • Life sciences: Digestion of muscle tissue, skin or plant material for nucleic acid extraction.
  • Food inspection: Homogenisation of fibrous meat or tough vegetables.
  • Materials testing: Grinding of soft plastics, textile fibres or paper.
  • Pharmaceuticals: Dissolving capsules or tablets in liquid media.
