The S 25 N - 25 G - ST (0004447500) is an ST model. According to IKA, ST tools are used for the comminution of fibrous samples. The tool, with a 25 mm stator diameter, processes sample volumes from 50 to 2,000 ml and is compatible with the T 25 digital and T 25 easy clean digital or control drives.
Geometry and speed
The rotor and stator have diameters of 20 and 25 mm, respectively, with a gap of 0.5 mm between them. At the maximum permissible speed of 25,000 rpm, this results in a maximum circumferential speed of 26.2 m/s. The final fineness ranges from 15 to 50 µm for suspensions and from 1 to 10 µm for emulsions. The installation length is 194 mm, and the immersion depth ranges from 40 to 165 mm.
Bearing and Material
The shaft is mounted in a PTFE split-ring bearing. PTFE and AISI 316L come into contact with the medium. The tool is suitable for solvents and abrasive substances and operates within a pH range of 2 to 13. Operating temperatures of up to 180 °C are permissible for short periods; it can be sterilised using all methods.
Choice within the S-25 range
The same stator size is also available with a ball bearing, PTFE seal and FFKM O-ring as the S 25 KD - 25 G ST, which additionally permits a vacuum down to 100 mbar and is designed for temperatures up to 150 °C. For vacuum down to 1 mbar and pressure up to 6 bar, the S 25 KV, 25 G is suitable. Smaller volumes of up to 50 ml are handled by the S 10 N, 8 G ST on the T 10.

Fits
A batch of formulation in a beaker, an emulsion in a 500-millilitre flask, a batch of cell suspension for sample preparation: the T 25 digital ULTRA-TURRAX is the classic drive unit for all tasks in everyday laboratory work involving volumes between 1 millilitre and 2 litres. It covers a speed range from 3,000 to 25,000 revolutions per minute and is supplied as a drive unit only, without a dispersing tool, so that each laboratory can choose the appropriate tool geometry itself.Electronic speed control for reproducible batchesThe speed can be adjusted continuously between 3,000 and 25,000 rpm, with a deviation of just 1 per cent. An LED display shows the set value directly, whilst electronic overload protection and an error code display ensure reliable operation. Without an attachment fitted, the unit remains comparatively quiet at 75 dB(A); the maximum viscosity is 5,000 mPas. For batches that alternate between low- and medium-viscosity phases, the speed can be readjusted at any time during the process without switching off the unit.Compact drive for the laboratory benchMeasuring 87 x 271 x 106 millimetres and weighing 2.5 kilograms, the T 25 digital takes up little bench space; the arm measures 13 millimetres in diameter and 160 millimetres in length. The power input is 800 watts, whilst the power output is 500 watts. The unit operates at 220 to 240 volts at 50 or 60 hertz; a voltage variant of 100 to 120 volts is also available. The T 25 easy clean digital ULTRA-TURRAX is the drive unit in the IKA T 25 easy clean series, designed for laboratories that need to clean quickly and thoroughly between batches. The tool can be opened for cleaning without having to completely dismantle the rotor-stator unit, which saves time when changing products frequently and prevents cross-contamination. A dispersing tool is not included with the unit; it is selected separately to suit the specific application.The easy-clean principle in practiceTools in the easy-clean series are identified by the abbreviation ‘EC’ in their name and can be opened for cleaning without the need to dismantle the entire drive unit. This saves users the time-consuming process of changing tools and completely dismantling the unit when, for example, they are processing a cosmetic emulsion in the morning and a different formulation in the afternoon. A brushless DC motor drives the tool, which reduces carbon dust in the cleanroom and keeps operation comparatively quiet at 70 dB(A) when no tool is fitted.Display, timer and operationThe speed is shown on an LED display and can be adjusted continuously between 3,000 and 25,000 revolutions per minute with a tolerance of 2 per cent.
