Product information "IKA S 65 C - G 65 M Dispersing Tool, Ø 65 mm, for T 65, 0010001666"

With an installation length of 520 millimetres and a weight of 3.91 kilograms, the IKA S 65 C - G 65 M is a piece of equipment designed for large batches ranging from 2 to 40 l. The stator has a diameter of 65 millimetres and the rotor 58 millimetres.

Speed, gap and immersion depth

The gap between the rotor and stator is 0.5 millimetres wide. The maximum permissible speed is 9,500 rpm, resulting in a circumferential speed of 28.8 metres per second. The tool has an immersion depth of 90 to 450 millimetres; IKA recommends 94 to 450 millimetres. IKA specifies a final particle size of 20 to 50 micrometres for suspensions and 5 to 15 micrometres for emulsions.

Bearings and Materials

The bearing system consists of ball bearings and ceramic plain bearings. The materials in contact with the product are AISI 316L and ceramic. The tool is suitable for solvents and can be used in the pH range of 2 to 13. The maximum operating temperature is 170 degrees Celsius. It is not designed for vacuum operation.

Drive

The tool is intended for use with the T 65 basic and T 65 digital dispersers. It may be sterilised using any method (except for the ball bearings).

Typical applications

  • Dispersing and emulsifying in batches of 2 to 40 l
  • Emulsions with a final particle size of 5 to 15 µm
  • Suspensions with a final particle size of 20 to 50 µm
  • Immersion depths of 90 to 450 mm
  • Media containing solvents at operating temperatures up to 170 °C

The T 65 digital ULTRA-TURRAX is designed for the transition from the laboratory to the pilot plant, for batches of 2 to 50 litres (H₂O) with a power consumption of 2,600 watts. Unlike the smaller units in the T series, it does not run on a single-phase laboratory power supply, but requires a three-phase connection of 3 x 400 volts, which must be installed by a qualified electrician. Anyone planning this connection should take this into account at the installation stage. For the transition from laboratory to pilot plantThree different rotor-stator geometries cover a range of applications from fine dispersion to coarse pre-comminution; a plug-in coupling allows tool changes to be made on the drive without the need for additional tools. Depending on the configuration, the stainless steel dispersing tools can also be used under vacuum and overpressure, provided the relevant accessories are designed for this purpose. The speed range extends from 1,000 to 9,500 rpm with a tolerance of 3 per cent, displayed via a 7-segment LED display; an error code display assists with troubleshooting during operation.Performance data for high throughputsWith a power input of 2,600 watts and an output power of 2,200 watts, the T 65 digital significantly outperforms the smaller T 25 and T 50 models; the maximum viscosity is 5,000 mPas. Measuring 300 x 420 x 400 millimetres and weighing 35 kilograms, the unit is designed for a fixed installation rather than portable use; without tools, the noise level is 75 dB(A). The IP 54 protection rating in accordance with DIN EN 60529 is noticeably higher than the IP 20 rating of the smaller T-series units, thereby allowing use in more demanding environments; permissible ambient temperatures range from 5 to 40 degrees Celsius with up to 80 per cent relative humidity.Power connection: three-phase and to be carried out only by a qualified electricianThe mains connection is 3 x 400 volts at 50 or 60 hertz; alternatively, a 3 x 230-volt version is available. A 2.5-metre power cable is not included in the scope of delivery and must be ordered separately as an accessory, as must the SI 400 safety limit switch (ID 0003294800) with the matching SI 474 bracket (ID 0003264400). According to the manufacturer, the actual mains connection must be carried out exclusively by a qualified electrician; this is a point that should be taken into account at an early stage when planning the installation, particularly if only a single-phase connection is currently available at the intended location.Typical areas of applicationPilot plants and technical trials prior to full-scale productionHomogenisation of large batches up to 50 litresApplications requiring high power and an increased protection ratingSwitching between several rotor-stator geometries depending on the formulationSelection guide: smaller model or laboratory unitIf only a single-phase connection is available or the volume is less than 30 litres, the T 50 digital ULTRA-TURRAX is the more practical choice. For laboratory volumes up to 2 litres, the T 25 digital ULTRA-TURRAX drive unit or the T 25 digital Solution complete set are significantly better suited.Technical detailsMotor power input / output2,600 W / 2,200 WProcessable volume (H₂O)2 to 50 lMax. viscosity5,000 mPasSpeed range1,000 to 9,500 rpm, continuously variable (tolerance 3 %)Speed display7-segment LEDNoise level (without tools)75 dB(A)Process typeBatchPermissible ambient temperature range / humidity5 to 40 °C / 80 %Protection classIP 54 in accordance with DIN EN 60529Rated power3 x 400 V, 50/60 Hz, 2,600 W (additional voltage variant 3 x 230 V available; connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician)Dimensions (W x H x D)300 x 420 x 400 mmWeight35 kgScope of deliveryT 65 digital ULTRA-TURRAX drive unitRotor spannerHook spannerShaft spannerCable gland for the switch cable (2 pieces)Hexagonal angle spannerThe dispersing tool, mains cable (2.5 m) and SI 400 safety limit switch are not included in the scope of delivery and are available separately.
