KERN OBN 159 Transmitted-light microscope, trinocular, 3W LED, Infinity Plan

Product information "KERN OBN 159 Transmitted-light microscope, trinocular, 3W LED, Infinity Plan"

KERN OBN 159: Professional microscopy with infinity optics and LED

The KERN OBN 159 (MPN OBN 159) is a fully equipped laboratory microscope from the Professional Line that leaves nothing to be desired. It has been developed for demanding routine applications in cytology, haematology, pathology and water analysis. The standout feature of this model is the combination of excellent infinity optics and ultra-modern, high-performance 3W LED illumination. This not only provides brilliant, white light without generating heat, but also guarantees an extremely long service life for the light source.

Infinity optics for razor-sharp images

The optical system is corrected to ‘infinity’. This eliminates aberrations and delivers a flat, high-contrast image across the entire field of view (20 mm). The 5-position objective turret is pre-loaded with five high-quality plan-achromatic infinity objectives (4x, 10x, 20x, 40x, 100x oil). Thanks to the rear-tilted design, you have unrestricted access to the stage and your specimens at all times.

Perfect illumination thanks to Köhler

For optimum contrast and resolution, the OBN 159 features a full Köhler illumination system.

  • Field diaphragm: Permanently integrated into the base and centring-capable.
  • Abbe condenser: N.A. 1.25, height-adjustable, centring-capable and fitted with an aperture diaphragm.
  • This enables you to precisely align the light beam with the optical axis and the numerical aperture of the objective – a prerequisite for professional microscopy of the highest standard.

Ergonomics and documentation

The trinocular tube (Siedentopf type) enables fatigue-free working thanks to a 30° viewing angle and dioptre adjustment on both sides. Via the third optical path (trinocular output), you can permanently connect a microscope camera (C-mount) to document your findings or present them live on a monitor. The large mechanical cross-table is sized to accommodate two slides simultaneously, facilitating rapid comparison of samples.
