The KERN OIV 254 (MPN OIV 254) has been specially developed for digital quality control, documentation and training. It is a perfectly coordinated complete set that combines the advantages of an optical stereo microscope with modern digital image processing. There is no need to assemble any components – this system is ‘ready to use’.

Optical Brilliance & Digital Convenience

At its heart is an outstanding stereo zoom microscope (based on the tried-and-tested KERN OZL series).

• Optical zoom: With a continuously variable zoom range from 0.7x to 4.5x, you achieve (when using the 10x eyepieces) a total magnification of 7x to 45x.
• Parfocality: The image remains sharp whilst zooming, largely eliminating the need for constant refocusing.
• Integrated camera: A 2-megapixel USB camera is permanently fitted in the third optical path. There’s no need to search for adapters or adjust cameras. Simply connect the microscope to your PC or laptop via USB.

Illumination: Every detail in the right light

The OIV 254 offers maximum flexibility when illuminating your samples:

1. Incident light (ring light): A powerful 3W LED ring light illuminates opaque samples (printed circuit boards, metal parts, rocks) evenly and without shadows.
2. Transmitted light: The stand also features a 3W LED transmitted light system, ideal for transparent or translucent samples. Both lighting systems can be dimmed independently of one another.

Software included: KERN Microscope VIS

The package includes the powerful KERN Microscope VIS software (for Windows). This not only enables live viewing on the monitor but also offers a comprehensive range of tools:

• Measurement: Measure distances, areas and angles directly within the live image.
• Documentation: Save images and videos with a single click.
• Editing: Add notes or markings. This makes the OIV 254 the ideal tool for quality assurance (QA) reports.
