The Kern OZL 963 stereomicroscope set combines a Greenough head with zoom optics, a universal telescopic arm stand and an LED ring light to form a pre-configured unit from the Kern range. The trinocular tube is designed to accommodate a microscope camera, and the zoom range extends from 0.7x to 4.5x.
Zoom optics based on the Greenough principle
The trinocular head operates according to the Greenough principle and covers a zoom range from 0.7x to 4.5x, with a zoom ratio of 6.4:1. Together with the standard 10x eyepieces and a 20 mm field of view, the magnification ranges from overview to detail without the need to change the objective. The tube is inclined at 45 degrees and can be rotated through 360 degrees; the interpupillary distance can be adjusted between 55 and 75 mm, whilst the dioptre adjustment operates on both sides from -5 to +5. The working distance is 100 mm; specimens up to 140 mm in height can be placed beneath the head.
LED ring light with pure incident light
The LED ring light included in the set provides 4.5 watts of pure incident light, with a light distribution ratio of 0:100. Focusing is achieved via a coarse adjustment knob.
Universal telescopic arm stand with plate
The head and lighting are mounted on a universal telescopic arm stand with a plate. Fully assembled, the set weighs 18 kg and measures 700 x 255 x 600 mm (W x D x H).

Expandable for photo and video documentation
The trinocular tube is designed for camera connection, but a C-mount adapter is not included in the Scope of delivery. For image documentation, the set can be supplemented with a microscope camera and the appropriate adapter. Additional eyepieces with 15x, 20x or 25x magnification, as well as close-focusing lenses ranging from 0.5x to 2x, are available for different magnification levels.
Differences from the Kern OZL 465

Both sets use the same zoom lens with a range of 0.7x to 4.5x (zoom ratio 6.4:1).
