In the larder of a commercial kitchen or catering business, frozen goods must be stowed away quickly, kept at the correct temperature reliably, and still remain neatly organised. The Liebherr FFPSvg 6501 is a commercial freezer cabinet with forced-air cooling, made from chrome-nickel steel, which offers a net capacity of 486 litres for GN 2/1 containers. Depending on the kitchen layout, the unit can be set up either on height-adjustable feet or on castors, meaning it can be used both in a fixed kitchen installation and in an area with frequently changing cleaning requirements.

Circulating air cooling for consistent temperatures

The forced-air cooling system distributes the cold air evenly throughout the entire interior, rather than concentrating it on a single cooling surface. The temperature setting range extends from -9°C to -26°C, meaning the cabinet can be set for both standard deep-freeze storage and lower temperatures approaching blast-freeze levels. The temperature is displayed digitally on the outside, so the status can be checked at any time without having to open the door and lose cold air. This makes daily checks significantly easier during ongoing kitchen operations.

Automatic defrosting with no ice build-up

According to the manufacturer, NoFrost technology ensures that no ice forms on the interior walls of this freezer; the defrosting process runs automatically. This reduces the cleaning effort required during kitchen operations and prevents storage space from being lost due to ice build-up. With an energy consumption of 3,232 kWh over 24 hours, its operation falls within a reasonable range for this appliance class, which is reflected in its energy efficiency class E rating.

Stainless steel inside and out for the rigours of everyday kitchen use

The housing, door and inner container are made entirely of chrome-nickel steel (1.4301 / AISI 304). The material is corrosion-resistant, easy to clean and meets the hygiene requirements of a commercial kitchen, even with daily contact with cleaning agents and moisture. The LED ceiling lighting inside the unit also ensures good visibility when storing and retrieving items, particularly when searching deep inside the cabinet for a specific GN container. The handle strip on the door is designed for frequent, quick opening during kitchen operations.

Installation as required: levelling feet or castors

In the version with levelling feet, the height can be adjusted between 115 and 175 millimetres, which is useful for compensating for uneven kitchen floors. The total height in this version is 211.5 centimetres. The version with castors brings the cupboard to a total height of 215 centimetres and can be easily moved out of the way for cleaning the floor or for kitchen refurbishment, without having to be lifted. The width and depth remain the same for both versions at 69.7 by 86.7 centimetres, meaning that the space required can be calculated when planning the kitchen, regardless of the chosen installation type.

Connection, refrigerant and ambient conditions

The FFPSvg 6501 operates on 220–240 V AC at 50 Hz; the rated current is 4.0 A, and the connection cable is 3,000 millimetres long. The refrigerant used is the natural R 290, with a charge of 94 grams. The cabinet is designed for an ambient temperature between +10°C and 40°C, as may be found in kitchens with cookers and other nearby heat sources.

Reliable monitoring, flexible connectivity

In the event of a fault, the FFPSvg 6501 provides visual and audible alerts, enabling staff to respond promptly before goods are damaged. The cabinet can be integrated into a monitoring solution via the optional retrofittable Wi-Fi/LAN interface, for example to document temperature trends. The door hinge can be switched to the right-hand side, and the mechanical lock can be secured if required to control access to sensitive goods.

Typical applications

The FFPSvg 6501 is suitable for catering establishments, canteens, catering kitchens and the hospitality industry – wherever large quantities of frozen goods such as meat, fish, baked goods or prepared meals are stored in GN 2/1 containers. The three height-adjustable shelves in the freezer compartment adapt to containers of varying heights, allowing flexible use of the storage space – for example, for pre-production in commercial kitchens or buffer storage ahead of events with high stock turnover.
