Robust, convenient and powerful: the Liebherr MRFec 3501 ensures a plentiful supply of chilled drinks in the catering and retail sectors. Bottles and cans are neatly stored on flexible shelves, whilst the cabinet is impact-resistant and easy to clean – key features for a drinks fridge that is constantly being opened, restocked and emptied as part of day-to-day operations. With a net capacity of 250 litres, it offers sufficient space to keep drinks flowing without the need for constant refilling.

Circulating air cooling with energy efficiency class C

The MRFec 3501 uses dynamic cooling (forced-air circulation) and maintains the temperature within the range of +2 °C to +9 °C – the standard range for chilled drinks served at the bar. Circulating-air cooling distributes the cold air more evenly throughout the interior than a purely static solution, ensuring that items in the rear corners of the shelves also remain reliably cool. The natural refrigerant R 600a is used (charge: 60 g), a refrigerant with very low global warming potential. According to the technical data sheet, energy consumption is around 1.005 kWh per 24 hours, which, when extrapolated, corresponds to the 367 kWh per year stated on the official EU energy label (energy efficiency class C; see the section on the EU energy label below for details). This model is not designed for network integration; the unit operates as a stand-alone solution without a network connection, which makes commissioning correspondingly straightforward. The unit is designed for ambient temperatures of up to +40 °C and is therefore also suitable for warmer locations behind the bar or in the kitchen.

Well-organised interior layout for bottles and cans

Inside, 5 shelves made of plastic-coated wire mesh (with a load capacity of up to 45 kg per shelf) ensure flexible, clearly visible organisation of stock. Depending on the type of container, the unit can hold up to 414 x 0.33-litre cans, 207 x 0.5-litre PET bottles, 103 x 1.0-litre PET bottles or 80 x 1.5-litre PET bottles – and can be loaded with a mix of these, allowing different ranges of drinks to be stored simultaneously. The recessed handle makes it easy to open even when your hands are full; the door hinge is on the right but can be reversed, so it can be adapted to the existing installation layout. Defrosting is automatic, so no manual maintenance is required for dehumidifying the refrigeration compartment – a clear advantage in hectic day-to-day operations where time for appliance maintenance is scarce. The white plastic inner liner is easy to wipe clean should anything spill. The body and door are made of steel, a combination of materials designed for stability in continuous operation and capable of withstanding the daily opening and closing at a busy bar.

The automatic defrost function is particularly beneficial in establishments open to the public, as it ensures the unit remains operational at all times without requiring any additional effort. The MRFec 3501 is also suitable as a supplement to a larger drinks fridge, for example when a second cooling zone with its own temperature range is required.

Installation and connection

With external dimensions of 168.4 x 59.7 x 65.4 cm (H x W x D) and a net weight of 57.00 kg, the MRFec 3501 can be accommodated even in more compact kitchens or behind the counter. When the door is open, the unit requires a width of 60.0 cm, which must be taken into account when planning space in confined counter areas. It operates at 220 to 240 V with a connected load of 2.0 A and is supplied with a 2,000 mm long power cable. When packed, the appliance has a gross weight of 61.10 kg and measures 61.5 x 72.5 x 172.0 cm (W x D x H), a specification that is useful for delivery planning.

EU energy label

The MRFec 3501 has an energy efficiency rating of Class C on the A to G scale in accordance with (EU) 2019/2016. This class was taken directly from the official Liebherr energy label: energy consumption 367 kWh per year with a gross capacity of 327 l and a reference cooling temperature of 5 °C; permissible ambient temperature up to 40 °C. EPREL registration number: 403808.
