Anyone who needs to store large quantities of reagents, samples or chemicals at a cool temperature in the laboratory requires a laboratory fridge that performs reliably without needing to be readjusted every time a new batch is added. The Liebherr SRPvg laboratory refrigerator from the Performance series, available in three sizes ranging from 480 to 1,091 litres net volume and with a choice of steel or insulated glass doors, covers a wide range of laboratory requirements, offering temperature stability of ±3 °C and using the natural refrigerant R 290. Whether for central laboratory storage, quality assurance or sample storage within an institute: the model range can be selected to suit the required capacity and the desired door type.

Temperature stability of ±3 °C with dynamic forced-air cooling

A dynamic cooling system with forced-air circulation ensures even temperature distribution throughout the interior, even when the door is opened frequently during normal laboratory operations. Defrosting takes place automatically. Depending on the door variant, the adjustable temperature range is from -2 °C to +16 °C (steel door) or 0 °C to +16 °C (insulated glass door), with a temperature stability of ±3 °C – a hallmark of the Performance series. The permissible ambient temperature is from +10 °C to +35 °C. Should a fault occur, visual and audible alarms provide immediate notification. In the event of a power cut, the power failure alarm is triggered when power is restored, ensuring that any outage is detected retrospectively. The natural refrigerant R 290 (propane) is used, an environmentally friendly choice with low global warming potential.

Operation, networking and security of the Performance Series

The SRPvg is operated via a monochrome display with touch buttons, secured by a mechanical lock. A Wi-Fi/LAN interface can be retrofitted as an option, making the unit SmartModule-compatible for integration into a central monitoring system if required, without the need for the basic configuration to be pre-configured for this purpose. The connection cable is 3 m long; the rated current is 4.0 A, 220 to 240 V, 50 Hz. Unlike the Perfection Series SRPvh, the SRPvg does not include a data logger or alarm history as standard, but instead offers a streamlined operating concept for laboratories that do not require comprehensive digital documentation of the cold chain.

Three sizes ranging from 480 to 1,091 litres

The most compact model, the SRPvg 6501/6511, offers a net volume of 480 litres with four height-adjustable, plastic-coated storage shelves, each with a load capacity of 60 kg, and is suitable for smaller laboratory areas or as a supplement to an existing unit. The medium-sized model, the SRPvg 8401/8411, has a capacity of 702 litres and is also fitted with four storage shelves. The largest model, the SRPvg 1402/1412, offers a net volume of 1,091 litres and eight storage shelves, and is suitable for central laboratory storage facilities handling high volumes of reagents or samples – for example, where several daily samples or test series need to be temporarily stored simultaneously at the end of a working day.

Steel door or insulated glass door: choice of door type as required

On models 1402, 6501 and 8401, the door is made of solid steel; on models 1412, 6511 and 8411, it is made of insulated glass with a steel frame. If, during day-to-day laboratory work, you simply want to check briefly whether a compartment still has capacity or whether a batch has already been removed, with the insulated glass door you do not need to open the door to do so and do not risk unnecessary warming of the interior. On the largest model, the 1402/1412, the door hinge position is fixed – either left-hand or right-hand; on the two more compact models, the 6501/6511 and 8401/8411, it is reversible.

Suitable for cleanrooms in accordance with ISO EN 14644-1 and GMP Class B

The inner chamber is constructed entirely from 1.4301/AISI 304 chrome-nickel steel, which is easy to clean and resistant to most chemicals commonly used in laboratories. All six models are designed to be cleanroom-compatible in accordance with ISO EN 14644-1 Class 6 and, according to the data sheet, comply with GMP Class B. In addition, the units are certified to IEC 60068-3, IEC 61010-1, IEC 61010-2-011 and IEC 61326-1, as well as to Labgrade Energy Star. The sound power level is 60 dB.

The SRPvg laboratory refrigerator is suitable for use wherever laboratory chemicals, reagents or samples need to be stored reliably at a cool temperature, without the need for comprehensive digital documentation of the cold chain. For example, if a large number of daily samples or test series need to be temporarily stored at the end of a working day, the large 1,091-litre capacity provides sufficient space without the need to cram individual containers together or stack them in a haphazard manner.
