Anyone who needs to store sensitive samples, reagents or reference samples that require documentation will find it almost impossible to do so without standard-compliant refrigeration. The Liebherr SRPvh laboratory refrigerator from the Perfection series is certified to DIN 13277 and, with three sizes ranging from 480 to 1,091 litres net volume and a choice of steel or insulated glass doors, covers a wide range of laboratory requirements. An integrated USB data logger, an alarm history and a built-in Wi-Fi/LAN interface ensure a fully traceable cold chain with a temperature stability of ±2 °C.

DIN 13277: standard-compliant laboratory storage with documentation

All six sizes of the SRPvh are designed in accordance with DIN 13277 for laboratory and pharmacy refrigerators, as per the Liebherr certification list. This is complemented by an integrated USB data logger, which continuously records the temperature history, and an alarm history that allows past faults to be traced. In the event of a power cut, the power failure alarm is triggered immediately rather than only when power is restored, and remains buffered for at least 12 hours, ensuring that even an outage overnight or at the weekend is reliably documented.

Temperature stability of ±2 °C with dynamic recirculating air cooling

A dynamic cooling system with forced-air cooling ensures even temperature distribution throughout the interior, whilst defrosting takes place automatically. Depending on the door variant, the adjustable temperature range is from -2 °C to +16 °C (steel door) or 0 °C to +16 °C (insulated glass door), with a temperature stability of ±2 °C. The permissible ambient temperature is from +10 °C to +35 °C. The refrigerant used is R 600a, a natural refrigerant with low global warming potential, with a charge of 80 g in all six sizes. Energy consumption ranges from 172 to 705 kWh per year, depending on the size and door variant; the exact figures for each of the six models are listed in the model overview below.

Operation, connectivity and access security of the Perfection series

The SRPvh is operated via a 2.4-inch colour display with touch and swipe controls. The Wi-Fi/LAN interface is already integrated and detachable, meaning the unit can be connected directly to the laboratory network without the need for separate accessories. An electronic lock with remote control replaces the traditional key. The connection cable is 3 m long; the rated current is 4.0 A, 220 to 240 V, 50 to 60 Hz. Compared with the Performance Series SRPvg, this means that both the lock and the network connection are already included as standard in the basic configuration, rather than having to be retrofitted as an option.

Three sizes ranging from 480 to 1,091 litres

The most compact model, the SRPvh 6501/6511, offers a net volume of 480 litres with four height-adjustable, plastic-coated storage shelves, each with a load capacity of 60 kg. The medium-sized model, the SRPvh 8401/8411, has a capacity of 702 litres and also features four storage shelves. The largest model, the SRPvh 1402/1412, offers a net volume of 1,091 litres and eight storage shelves, suitable for central laboratory storage facilities handling high volumes of samples subject to documentation requirements.

Steel door or insulated glass door: choice of locking mechanism as required

On models 1402, 6501 and 8401, the door is made of solid steel; on models 1412, 6511 and 8411, it is made of insulated glass with a steel frame. On the largest model, the 1402/1412, the door hinge position is fixed – either left-hand or right-hand; on the two more compact models, the 6501/6511 and 8401/8411, it is reversible. The interior lighting on the largest size consists of an LED light column on both sides, whilst on the more compact sizes it consists of an LED light column on the left.

Suitable for cleanrooms in accordance with ISO EN 14644-1 and GMP Class B

The inner vessel is constructed entirely from 1.4301/AISI 304 chrome-nickel steel. All six sizes are designed for cleanroom use in accordance with ISO EN 14644-1 Class 6 and, according to the data sheet, comply with GMP Class B, in addition to DIN 13277 certification in accordance with IEC 60068-3, IEC 61010-1, IEC 61010-2-011 and IEC 61326-1. The sound power level is 60 dB.

Typical applications

The SRPvh laboratory refrigerator is suitable for any situation where temperature-sensitive samples, reagents or materials need to be stored in compliance with DIN 13277 and where seamless documentation of the cold chain is required, such as in central laboratories with multiple user groups, in quality assurance departments with extensive stocks of reference samples, or in clinical laboratories with a high volume of samples. If, for example, no one needs to be on site at the weekend, the integrated USB data logger provides complete documentation of the cold chain, whilst the Wi-Fi connection allows for remote monitoring without the need for anyone to physically check the unit.
