Reliable filtration with high stability: MN 85/70 glass fibre round filters
MACHEREY-NAGEL’s MN 85/70 glass fibre round filters are the tried-and-tested standard for routine laboratory filtration where a fast flow rate and good mechanical strength are essential. Unlike pure (binder-free) glass fibre filters, the MN 85/70 type contains an organic binder.
This binder gives the filter significantly greater mechanical stability, making it more resistant to tearing even when wet. It is slightly thinner and lighter than the MN 85/90 grade, yet still delivers excellent retention capacity.
Features and benefits
- High mechanical strength: Thanks to the organic binder, the filter is easier to handle without tearing immediately when wet.
- Fine retention capacity: With a separation efficiency of 0.6 µm, the filter is ideally suited for the separation of finely dispersed turbidity and particles.
- Temperature-resistant: The filter withstands temperatures of up to 200 °C without any problems. (Note: For higher temperatures up to 500 °C, please select the binder-free variant MN 85/70 BF).
- High filtration rate: With a filtration time of approx. 15 seconds, the filter enables rapid workflows when handling large volumes of samples.
