Product information "Memmert HPP750eco Constant-Climate Chamber, 749 litres, Peltier technology without a compressor"
Where industrial materials testing or a high sample throughput requires a climatic chamber to operate continuously for years, the Memmert HPP750eco constant-climate chamber is the largest model in the HPPeco range: 749 litres’ internal volume, up to 14 shelves, each with a load capacity of up to 30 kg, and a total load capacity of 200 kg, controlled by the same Peltier technology as the smaller models in the range, without a compressor or conventional refrigerant.
Peltier cooling even in large-volume continuous operation
Even the largest HPPeco model heats and cools via a Peltier element integrated into the rear panel; at around 700 W, the connected load is higher than that of the smaller models, yet a conventional refrigerant-based cooling circuit is still completely dispensed with. Two DIN Class A Pt100 sensors in a 4-wire configuration monitor each other and automatically take over the function of the other sensor in the event of a fault – an important safety feature when handling loads of up to 200 kg over several weeks. Unlike the smaller models, the HPP750eco is designed with castors that can be moved and locked in place, which makes it easier to relocate it within the test laboratory.
Humidity control and ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY
Relative humidity can be set between 10 and 90 % r.h. with an accuracy of 0.5 % r.h.; a hot steam generator provides humidification, whilst a Peltier-based cold trap provides dehumidification. An external water canister with a connecting hose and a self-priming pump handles the water supply, eliminating the need for a fixed water connection. Control is via the ControlCOCKPIT TwinDISPLAY, featuring two TFT colour graphic displays and the HeatBALANCE function for adjusting heat output distribution; documentation is carried out via an Ethernet interface and the AtmoCONTROL software.
Selection guide: Choosing the right model in the HPPeco range
With a capacity of 749 litres, the HPP750eco is the largest of the four HPPeco models compared here:
| Memmert HPP110eco constant-climate chamber | 108 litres, 560 x 480 x 400 mm, approx. 64 kg, up to 5 shelves |
| Memmert Constant-Climate Chamber HPP260eco | 256 litres, 640 x 800 x 500 mm, approx. 94 kg, up to 9 shelves |
| Memmert Constant-Climate Chamber HPP410eco | 384 litres, 640 x 1200 x 500 mm, approx. 134 kg, up to 14 shelves |
| Memmert Constant-Climate Chamber HPP750eco | 749 litres, 1040 x 1200 x 600 mm, approx. 197 kg, up to 14 shelves |
Those who require less capacity or are looking for a second, more compact unit for special tests will find the HPP410eco, HPP260eco or HPP110eco to be suitable smaller alternatives; technically, the only differences between all four models lie in their capacity, dimensions, weight and power consumption. For even greater test capacities, Memmert also offers the HPP1060eco, HPP1400eco and HPP2200eco models, which are not included in this comparison table. You can find an overview of the entire Memmert range of climate chambers and incubators at LT Laborhandel in the Climate Chambers & Incubators category.
Distinguishing between the HPPeco and ICH110?
For test programmes that also involve temperatures below 0 °C or require compressor-based cooling with automatic defrosting, the Memmert ICH110 climate chamber remains the suitable alternative, albeit with a capacity of 108 litres, placing it in a significantly smaller volume class. Within the 0 to 70 °C range, however, the HPP750eco, with its Peltier technology, offers significantly more capacity per chamber than the ICH110 and requires neither refrigerant nor a defrost cycle.
Installation, water connection and drainage
A minimum wall clearance of 15 cm, a maximum ceiling clearance of 20 cm and a minimum side clearance of 5 cm must be maintained; the unit may be installed at altitudes of up to 2,000 m above sea level at ambient temperatures of 16 to 40 °C and a maximum relative humidity of 70 per cent, non-condensing. As the HPP750eco, with a net weight of around 197 kg, is significantly heavier than the smaller models, the standard castor and locking mechanism facilitates transport within the laboratory. A fixed water connection is not required; the supplied water canister provides the humidity control. For disposal as waste electrical and electronic equipment, Memmert is registered with the Stiftung Elektro-Altgeräte Register (Stiftung EAR) under WEEE registration number DE 66812464.
Investment rationale: Which equipment for which test purpose
For documented test runs across multiple parallel batches, a USB-to-Ethernet adapter is recommended, together with AtmoCONTROL or myChamber software licences – FDA-compliant for 21 CFR Part 11 environments where required. For unattended runs overnight or at weekends, a potential-free contact for connection to a central control system and a MobileALERT SMS alert system can be added. Where there are multiple user groups with different access rights, a lockable door and a USB user ID stick for the TwinDISPLAY are available. For permanent integration into the test room, a built-in frame with or without ventilation is also available.
Typical applications
With an internal volume of 749 litres and a load capacity of up to 30 kg per shelf, the Memmert HPP750eco constant-climate chamber is designed for high sample throughput in industry and contract research.
- Large-volume stability studies of multiple batches in accordance with ICH Q1A in contract laboratories and pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Stability tests for cosmetic and food product ranges on an industrial scale
- High-throughput material testing in industrial manufacturing
- Environmental testing from freezing point upwards for larger, heavy test specimens
Frequently asked questions about the Memmert HPP750eco constant-climate chamber
What temperature and humidity range does the HPP750eco cover?
Depending on the operating mode, 0 to 70 °C without humidity or 5 to 70 °C with active humidity control between 10 and 90 % rh; with light exposure, the operating range is restricted to 15 to 40 °C.
Does the chamber require a fixed water connection?
No. As with the smaller HPPeco models, the supplied water canister with connecting hose is sufficient; a self-priming pump delivers the distilled water as required, so a fixed water connection is not necessary.
How many samples fit into the HPP750eco?
Two racks are included as standard; a total of up to 14 racks, each with a maximum load of 30 kg, can be used, with the total load not exceeding 200 kg.
Can the HPP750eco be moved around within the laboratory?
Yes; according to the data sheet, the HPP750eco is designed to be moved and locked in place on castors; the smaller HPPeco models are not expressly intended for this purpose, according to the data sheet.
What distinguishes the HPP750eco from the Memmert ICH110 climate chamber?
The HPP750eco cools using a Peltier element without a compressor or refrigerant between 0 and 70 °C; the ICH110 operates with a compressor-based refrigeration cycle (R290) and additionally covers a range down to –10 °C, albeit with an internal volume of only 108 litres.
What software is available for documentation and validation?
The AtmoCONTROL software is available via the Ethernet interface for the management and evaluation of multiple parallel test runs; if required, it is also available as an FDA-compliant licence for environments subject to 21 CFR Part 11.
How is calibration carried out?
The scope of supply includes a factory calibration certificate for the standard values of 25 °C at 60 % rh and 40 °C at 75 % rh; in addition, three freely selectable temperature and humidity values each can be readjusted by the user. LT Laborhandel also arranges DAkkS-accredited calibration and IQ/OQ/PQ services.
