Memmert IN450 incubator, 449 l, +20 to +80 °C, SingleDISPLAY

The IN450 has a capacity of 449 litres and stands on castors that can be moved and locked in place; it has external dimensions of 1,224 x 1,247 x 784 mm and a net weight of around 161 kilograms. It can accommodate a maximum of eight shelves, which is fewer than the smaller IN260, which holds nine shelves. Temperature control is via a ControlCOCKPIT SingleDISPLAY, with a range from +20 to +80 °C.

Mobile housing and air flow

An electronically adjustable exhaust air flap introduces preheated fresh air, whilst the exhaust air outlet with a throttle valve is electronically controllable. The interior features deep-drawn ribbing with 4-sided all-round heating, whilst the housing has a fully galvanised sheet steel rear panel. Those requiring forced air circulation rather than natural convection will find the same size model in the IF series.

ControlCOCKPIT SingleDISPLAY

The ControlCOCKPIT SingleDISPLAY, with a TFT colour graphic display, evaluates a DIN Class A Pt100 sensor using a 4-wire measurement; the setting accuracy is 0.1 °C. SetpointWAIT only starts the process time once the setpoint temperature has been reached; the programme sequence is saved in the event of a power cut. The data logger can be read out and managed via Ethernet.

Temperature limiter and door locking

A mechanical temperature limiter, protection class 1 according to DIN 12880, switches off the heating when the temperature rises to approximately 20 °C above the maximum cabinet temperature. Behind the fully insulated stainless steel door with a 2-point locking mechanism is an inner glass door; a self-diagnostic system assists with troubleshooting. The permissible ambient temperature is +5 °C to +40 °C with a maximum relative humidity of 80 %; the unit must only be transported in an upright position.

Guide to choosing the right size

If the 256-litre IN260 proves too small, the mobile IN450, with a capacity of 449 litres and castors, offers more space, with eight shelves instead of nine. For even larger batches, the table below lists the IN750, which has a capacity of 749 litres and 14 shelves.
