Memmert SN55 Hot-Air Steriliser (53 l, natural convection), up to +250 °C

The Memmert SN55 is a hot-air steriliser classified as a Class IIb medical device, which has been specially developed for the safe sterilisation of medical instruments and containers using dry heat. Unlike models with forced air circulation, the SN55 (S=Steriliser, N=Natural convection) operates using natural convection. The absence of a fan eliminates the risk of fine particles or germs being dispersed throughout the interior by air turbulence – a crucial factor when handling critical loads.

Validatable process reliability

The most critical parameter in sterilisation is not the duration of the programme, but the dwell time at the setpoint temperature. The SN55 features the essential SetpointWAIT function: the process time only begins to run once the setpoint temperature has actually been reached at all measurement points inside the chamber. This prevents the heating phase from being incorrectly counted as sterilisation time and guarantees the reproducibility of cycles in accordance with medical standards.

Hygienic Design & Heating Concept

The interior is made of deep-drawn, stainless steel (grade 1.4301) and is particularly easy to clean thanks to its large radii. Memmert employs all-round heating: the heating elements are protected within fins on all four sides of the interior. This ensures excellent temperature uniformity and direct heat transfer to the items being sterilised, even without a fan. The unit is controlled via the intuitive “SingleDISPLAY” (TFT colour graphic display), which precisely regulates parameters such as temperature and flap position.
