Memmert WTB6 water bath, 7.5 litres, +100 °C, touchscreen

Product information "Memmert WTB6 water bath, 7.5 litres, +100 °C, touchscreen"

Compact precision: the Memmert WTB6 water bath

The Memmert WTB6 water bath (MPN WTB6) is the ideal introduction to the world of professional temperature control. With an internal volume of 7.5 litres, this model is the most compact unit in the new WTB generation. It has been specially developed for laboratories where space is at a premium, but where no compromises can be made on temperature accuracy. Whether on a fume cupboard, on the lab bench or in mobile analysis – the WTB6 fits in anywhere. In this little powerhouse, Memmert combines state-of-the-art touchscreen technology with the legendary robustness of deep-drawn stainless steel. It is the perfect solution for temperature control of small vessels, ointments, emulsions or samples in medical diagnostics.

Ease of use redefined: the 3.5-inch touchscreen

Even with its smallest model, Memmert makes no compromises. The Memmert WTB6 water bath is controlled not via analogue rotary knobs, but via a brilliant 3.5-inch touchscreen display. This intuitive user interface makes operation as simple as using a smartphone.

  • Everything at a glance: You can immediately see the current actual temperature and the setpoint temperature.
  • CustomView: A special feature of the WTB series is the customisable view. Would you like to see the timer in a larger display? Or would you prefer the alarm status? With CustomView, you can configure the display to suit your preferences.
  • Precise input: The temperature can be set in 0.1 °C increments – simply by tapping or swiping. It can even be operated easily whilst wearing laboratory gloves.

Stainless steel quality: Hygienic and durable

The housing and inner vessel of the Memmert WTB6 water bath are made from high-quality, rust-free stainless steel (grade 1.4301). The interior is deep-drawn, meaning it has been formed seamlessly from a single piece. Why is this a key advantage?

  1. Ease of cleaning: As there are no weld seams, corners or edges, dirt and germs cannot accumulate anywhere. A quick wipe with disinfectant is sufficient to keep the bath hygienically clean. This is particularly important in biological or clinical applications.
  2. Corrosion resistance: The stainless steel withstands even aggressive media and cleaning agents.
  3. Energy efficiency: The high-quality insulation ensures that the heat remains in the water and the outer casing stays pleasantly cool (‘Cool Touch’).

Standard drain system

With small water baths, manufacturers often cut corners on features – but not with the WTB6. Despite its compact size, the Memmert WTB6 water bath comes as standard with an integrated drain tap at the rear. This is a huge advantage for safety and ergonomics in the laboratory: you do not need to tip the filled bath (which can weigh approx. 10 kg when filled with water) to empty it. Simply connect a hose and let the water drain off in a controlled manner into a drain or container.

Safety comes first

When working with hot liquids, safety is paramount. The WTB6 is equipped with a two-stage safety system:

  1. Dry-run protection: Sensors constantly monitor the water level and temperature curve. Should the water evaporate or the bath be switched on whilst empty, the electronics immediately switch off the heating element before any damage occurs to the unit or the samples.
  2. Temperature limiter: An independent mechanical limiter (TB Protection Class 1) acts as a second barrier to ensure that the maximum temperature is not exceeded.

Versatile applications

Thanks to its compact dimensions and precise control, the WTB6 is a true all-rounder:

  • Medicine: Heating compresses, fango or dental materials.
  • Cosmetics: Melting waxes and fats for the production of lipsticks or creams.
  • Laboratory: Temperature control of test tubes, Eppendorf tubes (with suitable racks) or small beakers.
  • Schools & education: A robust and safe device for chemistry lessons.

Modularity through accessories

Please note that the bath is supplied without a lid as standard. However, Memmert offers a comprehensive range of accessories:

  • Sloping lid (gabled roof): Allows condensation to drain down the sides rather than dripping onto the samples.
  • Flat lid: For applications with limited headroom.
  • Insert racks: Special racks for test tubes, baby bottles or infusion bags keep the water bath tidy.

With the Memmert WTB6 water bath, you get German brand quality in a compact format. It is an investment in durability and process reliability.
