A space-saving solution for the laboratory: the Memmert WTB15 water bath

The Memmert WTB15 water bath (MPN WTB15) is the ideal solution for laboratories that require greater capacity but do not wish to compromise on ergonomics and hygiene. As part of the latest generation of Memmert products, it combines a usable volume of 17.1 litres with innovative touchscreen technology and a design concept that minimises cleaning times and maximises process reliability. It is ideally suited to temperature control tasks in the range from +5 °C above room temperature up to +100 °C, whether in microbiology, food chemistry or industrial materials testing.

Maximum hygiene thanks to a deep-drawn stainless steel bath

The standout feature of the WTB15 is its high-quality stainless steel inner bath (grade 1.4301). Memmert has deliberately avoided any obstructive internal fittings:

• No heating elements inside the chamber: the heating elements and sensors are situated on the outside of the bath, where they are protected.
• Softline design: The corners are deep-drawn with large radii. There are no sharp edges or recesses where dirt, limescale or biofilms can accumulate.
• Central drain: The tank base is designed to slope towards the central lowest point. This ensures complete, residue-free drainage via the standard drain tap, without the need to laboriously tilt the unit.

Intuitive operation: Touchscreen with CustomView

The WTB15 is controlled via a modern 3.5-inch touchscreen graphic display. The user interface is clearly structured, hygienically protected behind glass and can be operated precisely even whilst wearing laboratory gloves. The innovative CustomView function puts you in control: using drag-and-drop, you decide which parameters (e.g. current temperature, timer, alarm limits) should be displayed large and prominently on the screen. This allows the water bath to adapt to your workflow, and ensures that important information remains legible even from a distance.

Precise temperature control and safety

Thanks to its large, external heating element, the WTB15 achieves excellent temperature uniformity through natural convection – without any turbulence or heat input from a circulation pump. This is particularly beneficial for sensitive samples. A multi-stage safety system protects users and samples: a dry-run protection feature switches off the heating element if the liquid level falls below the minimum, whilst individually adjustable alarm limits warn of overheating.

Generous space and robust housing

With its internal dimensions, the WTB15 offers enough space for several test tube racks side by side or larger vessels such as Erlenmeyer flasks. The outer housing is made of scratch-resistant textured stainless steel, which remains visually appealing even in the harsh conditions of everyday laboratory use and is corrosion-resistant. Thanks to the modular range of accessories (available separately), such as shakers or various lid options (gabled roof/flat lid), the WTB15 can be flexibly adapted to changing tasks.
