Intuitive control: the 3.5-inch touchscreen

The most striking feature of the Memmert WTB50 water bath is its modern operating concept. Gone are the days of analogue rotary knobs or cryptic LED codes. The WTB50 features a brilliant 3.5-inch touchscreen display. Navigating the menus is as intuitive as on a smartphone.

• CustomView: One of Memmert’s innovations is the customisable view. You decide which parameters should be highlighted on the display. Is the remaining timer time most important to you? Or the exact current temperature? With CustomView, you can tailor the display to your workflow.
• Easy input: Setpoints can be changed in a matter of seconds by swiping and tapping. The screen responds precisely even when you’re wearing laboratory gloves.

Stainless steel perfection: Hygienic and durable

Memmert is renowned for its stainless steel craftsmanship. The Memmert WTB50 water bath is made from high-quality, stainless steel both inside and out. The inner tank is deep-drawn. This means it has been formed from a single piece and has no weld seams, corners or edges on the inside. Why is this important?

1. Hygiene: With no seams, germs, biofilms or dirt particles cannot become trapped. The bath can be cleaned and disinfected with a single wipe.
2. Corrosion resistance: The stainless steel used (grade 1.4301) is extremely resistant to corrosion, even when in constant contact with water and cleaning agents.
3. Energy efficiency: The excellent insulation between the inner tub and the outer casing ensures that heat remains inside the bath and is not released into the surrounding environment. This saves electricity and keeps the outer casing cool (‘Cool Touch’).

The Memmert WTB50 water bath comes with an integrated drain tap as standard. This is located at the rear of the unit and is easily accessible. Using a hose, you can direct the water safely and in a controlled manner into a drain or container without having to move the heavy unit.

Precise temperature control and safety

Memmert’s core expertise lies in temperature control. The Memmert WTB50 water bath covers a range from 5 °C above room temperature up to +100 °C (with boiling mode). A high-precision Class A Pt100 sensor measures the temperature directly within the medium. The control accuracy is an impressive 0.1 °C. Safety is ensured by a two-stage safety system:

1. Dry-run protection: Should the water accidentally evaporate or be forgotten, the unit switches off automatically to prevent damage to the heating element and the samples.
2. Temperature limiter: A mechanical temperature limiter (protection class 1) switches off the heating element if a critical temperature is exceeded.

Modularity and accessories

The WTB50 has a modular design. Although it is supplied without a lid as standard, Memmert offers a wide range of optional accessories to adapt the bath to your requirements:

• Sloping lid (gabled roof): Prevents condensation from dripping onto the samples. The water runs down the sloping sides and back into the bath.
• Flat lid: Ideal when headroom is limited or external attachments (e.g. shakers) are used.
• Shaking device: Convert the static bath into a shaking water bath.
• Circulation pump: For applications requiring even greater temperature uniformity (e.g. ± 0.02 K), an external pump can be retrofitted.
