With Tmax 1,750 °C, the Nabertherm high-temperature furnace LHT 02/17 reaches the highest temperature class of the three LHT sizes carried by LT Laborhandel, the usable space is 2 litres. The lift door opens upwards, control is via the P580 touch controller. Unlike the 01/17 D and 03/17 D models, the 02/17 does not carry a D suffix in the model designation.
Construction and connection
The interior measures 130 x 145 x 130 mm, externally the furnace measures 430 x 450 x 570 mm, with the lift door open, around 325 mm of additional height is added. The weight is 33 kg, placing the furnace between the two D variants at 28 and 38 kg. The connection is single-phase at 3.4 kW. The heating time to Tmax minus 100 K for the empty, closed furnace at 230 V is around 46 minutes.
Heating and insulation
The high-quality MoSi2 heating elements (molybdenum disilicide) offer extensive protection against chemical interactions between the charge and the heating elements. The furnace is insulated with high-quality fibre material without CLP classification under Regulation (EG) Nr. 1272/2008, aluminium silicate wool (RCF fibres) is not used.
Controller and air flow
The P580 touch controller stores up to 50 programs with 40 segments each, each segment covering its own process step with heating rate and holding time. Via NTLog Basic, the controller records process data to a USB stick. An adjustable air inlet opening and an exhaust opening in the ceiling provide air exchange in the furnace chamber.
Selection guide
Anyone who needs more usable space at a lower temperature requirement up to 1,650 °C will find 4 litres in the LHT 03/17 D, the LHT 01/17 D offers 1 litre with a more compact design and lower weight.
Typical applications
Furnaces in the LHT series with MoSi2 heating elements are intended for two application fields.
- Sintering of technical ceramics, such as zirconia dental bridges
- Research and laboratory as an all-rounder for high-temperature processes
For sintering processes with a higher temperature requirement, the LHT 02/17 with Tmax 1,750 °C is the size with the greatest reserve of the three LHT furnaces carried by LT Laborhandel.
