With 4 litres of usable space, the Nabertherm high-temperature furnace LHT 03/17 D is the largest of the three LHT sizes with MoSi2 heating elements carried by LT Laborhandel, Tmax is 1,650 °C. It opens via a lift door and is controlled via the P580 touch controller.
Heating and insulation
MoSi2 heating elements (molybdenum disilicide) heat the furnace, maintaining extensive protection against chemical interactions between the charge and the heating elements. The insulation consists of high-quality fibre material without CLP classification under Regulation (EG) Nr. 1272/2008, aluminium silicate wool (RCF fibres) is not used.
Interior and connection
The interior measures 135 x 135 x 200 mm, externally the furnace measures 412 x 450 x 595 mm, with the lift door open, around 300 mm of additional height is added. The weight is 38 kg. The LHT 03/17 D is connected single-phase at 2.7 kW. Empty and closed, the furnace needs around 57 minutes to reach Tmax minus 100 K at 230 V.
Controller P580 and thermocouple
50 programs with 40 segments each can be stored in the P580 touch controller, ramps and holding times remain stored in it for recurring processes. Each segment covers a process step with its own heating rate and holding time, allowing multi-stage temperature profiles to be mapped in one program. NTLog Basic records the process data and outputs it via USB. In the D version, a type S thermocouple measures the furnace temperature.
Selection guide
If 1 litre of usable space is sufficient, the LHT 01/17 D at the same Tmax of 1,650 °C is the more compact and lighter alternative at 28 instead of 38 kg weight. If a higher temperature is needed, the LHT 02/17 reaches Tmax 1,750 °C at 2 litres.
