The Nabertherm LT 5/12 is the lift door version of the 5-litre size for Tmax 1,200 °C. The hot side of the door remains turned away from the operator, and with the lift door open, 205 mm are added to the external dimensions. Where this is more important during loading than using the door as a shelf, this is the appropriate design.
Construction, heating and insulation
The usable space measures 205 x 170 x 130 mm internally, externally the furnace is 385 x 390 x 460 mm, with 205 mm added when the lift door is open. The housing is double-walled, rear-ventilated and made of textured stainless steel sheet. Heating is provided from two sides via ceramic heating plates with integrated heating wire, and the furnace is insulated exclusively with material without classification under the CLP Regulation (EG) Nr. 1272/2008, meaning without aluminium silicate wool (RCF fibre). The empty, closed furnace takes approximately 59 minutes to reach Tmax minus 100 K (230 V 1/N/PE or 400 V 3/N/PE), and the weight is 27 kg.
Controller and thermocouple
Control is handled via the B510 touch controller with 5 programs of 4 segments each, and the heating operates quietly via solid-state relays. NTLog Basic logs process data on a USB flash drive. A type S thermocouple is installed for Tmax 1,200 °C, and at working temperatures above 800 °C, the temperature uniformity in the empty usable space with the inlet air slider closed is +/-5 K according to DIN 17052-1.
Lift door and safety
With the lift door, the hot side remains turned away from the operator, an adjustable air inlet is located in the door, and the exhaust air discharges through the rear wall. For additional over-temperature protection, an adjustable temperature limiter with an adjustable cut-off temperature can be ordered as an option.
Selection guide for door type and temperature class
Those who prefer to use the door as a shelf rather than lifting it will find the flap door variant with the same usable space and the same temperature class in the L 5/12 (item no. L-055K2AL). If the lower temperature class is sufficient, this size is also available with Tmax 1,100 °C, as the L 5/11 with flap door (item no. L-055K1AL) or as the LT 5/11 with lift door on request.
Typical applications
The L/LT series is intended for use in laboratories and research. With the LT 5/12, the lift door design is added, which is suitable when the hot side should remain facing away from the operator during loading.
