Nabertherm Muffle Furnace L 5/11/B510, 5 l, Tmax 1,100 °C, Flap Door, L-055K1AL

The Nabertherm L 5/11 provides 5 litres of usable space at Tmax 1,100 °C and has a flap door that serves as a shelf during loading. With a connected load of 2.6 kW and a weight of 27 kg, it lies between the 3-litre and 9-litre sizes of the L/LT series.

Construction, heating and insulation

Internally, the chamber measures 205 x 170 x 130 mm, externally 385 x 390 x 460 mm, with the lift door variant LT 5/11 adding 205 mm when the door is open. The housing is double-walled, rear-ventilated and made of textured stainless steel sheet, heating is from two sides via ceramic heating plates with integrated heating wire. The furnace is insulated exclusively with material without classification according to the CLP Regulation (EG) Nr. 1272/2008, without aluminium silicate wool (RCF fibre). The empty, closed furnace heats up to Tmax minus 100 K in around 47 minutes at 230 V 1/N/PE or 400 V 3/N/PE.

Controller B510

The B510 touch controller stores 5 programs with 4 segments each, the heating operates quietly via solid-state relays. NTLog Basic records process data on a USB stick. At Tmax 1,100 °C, a type N thermocouple is installed, temperature uniformity in the empty chamber with the air inlet slide closed and working temperatures above 800 °C is +/-5 K according to DIN 17052-1.

Flap door and safety

The flap door can be used as a shelf during loading and has an adjustable air inlet, the exhaust air escapes via the rear wall of the furnace. An adjustable temperature limiter with adjustable cut-off temperature is available as an option for additional over-temperature protection.

Selection guide for volume and door type

For the higher temperature class with the same volume, the L 5/12 (art. no. L-055K2AL) with type S thermocouple is available. The lift door variant of the same size is called LT 5/11 and is available on request, with Tmax 1,200 °C LT Laborhandel offers the LT 5/12 with lift door. Typical applications

The L/LT series is intended for use in laboratories and research. With 5 litres of usable space, the L 5/11 is suitable for somewhat larger sample quantities than the 3-litre size, at temperatures up to 1,100 °C.

Available from the factory for the L 5/11 are, among others, an exhaust chimney with optionally a fan or catalytic converter, an adjustable temperature limiter with adjustable cut-off temperature, a protective gas connection for non-flammable process gases, a manual or automatic gas supply system, a thermocouple feedthrough in the rear wall or furnace door, the VCD software package for process control and documentation, and a charging rack with several loading levels, usable up to 800 °C, 2 to 3.5 kg per level depending on the model.
