The Restek Stabilwax ® is a highly stable, polar GC capillary column (phase: polyethylene glycol, PEG), which is regarded as one of the most robust WAX columns on the market. It is the ideal choice for the analysis of polar compounds where conventional WAX phases bleed rapidly or lose their stability.

Maximum stability & low bleed

Unlike many standard PEG columns, the Stabilwax® phase is specially cross-linked. (Feature) For procurement professionals in the analytics sector, this means significantly higher thermal stability (up to 250 °C), extremely low column bleed (Benefit) and a considerably longer service life, which reduces the cost per analysis.

Ideal polarity for FAMEs, flavourings and alcohols

As a polar phase, this column is perfectly suited to the separation of polar analytes. (Feature) Its main areas of application are the analysis of fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs), the investigation of flavourings and fragrances (e.g. in foodstuffs or perfumes), the analysis of alcohols, and the determination of polar solvent residues (Benefit).

Robust wide-bore column (0.53 mm ID)

This specific model (MPN 10654) is a ‘wide-bore’ column with a large internal diameter of 0.53 mm. (Feature) This makes it particularly robust, user-friendly to install and capable of accommodating larger sample volumes (high sample capacity) without becoming overloaded. The thick film layer (1.00 µm) is optimised for the analysis of highly volatile compounds (Benefit).
