Description:
To protect consumers with allergies, the 7th Amendment to the European Cosmetics Directive stipulates that finished cosmetic products and personal care products must state whether they contain excessive amounts of any allergen from a list of 26 compounds. Of these 26 compounds, 24 are volatile chemicals that can be identified by GC-MS analysis, and Version 3 of the method described by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) serves precisely this purpose.

This specially formulated reference standard kit exceeds IFRA’s purity requirements and contains all 24 fragrance allergens defined by the EU that can be detected by GC-MS, as well as seven further potential allergens. When analysed on a Restek Rxi-17 column using the IFRA method, all the desired compounds and isomers are clearly resolved without co-elutions. This time-saving mixture is also incredibly robust and has a shelf life of over one and a half years, allowing you to keep a pre-prepared standard in stock rather than preparing a new batch for each analysis.
