Description:
Rtx-5MS columns are coated with a 5 % diphenyl/95 % dimethylpolysiloxane phase and are tested to strict specifications for low column bleed and high inertness. They have the same polarity as the Rtx-5 columns, but exhibit lower column bleed.

Rxi-5Sil MS columns are coated with a silarylene phase, which has a polarity similar to that of a 5 % diphenyl/95 % dimethylpolysiloxane phase; however, the phenyl rings in the polymer chain of the silarylene phase provide improved thermal stability and lower column bleed. The Rxi-5Sil MS column is the ideal choice for analysis according to EPA Method 8270 for semi-volatile pollutants. The slight difference in selectivity of Rxi-5Sil MS columns also improves the separation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), such as benzo[b]- and benzo[k]-fluoranthene isomers.
