Product information "Restek Rxi-1ms GC Capillary Column, 30 m, 0.25 mm ID, 0.25 µm, 13323"
The Rxi-1ms is a non-polar column with crosslinked dimethyl polysiloxane, 30 m long, 0.25 mm inner diameter, 0.25 µm film thickness, with a fused silica support tube. It belongs to the Rxi line and is tested for extremely low column bleed. The signal-to-noise ratio is improved.
USP phase
The USP designations of the phase are G1, G2 and G38.
Temperature range
The column can be used from -60 °C to 330 °C isothermal and up to 350 °C in a temperature program. The first temperature value applies to isothermal operation, the second to temperature programs.
Dimethyl or diphenyl phase
With the same dimensions, the shop offers further Rxi phases. Among them, the Rxi-1ms is the only pure dimethyl polysiloxane phase.
| Column | Phase | Dimensions and temperature |
|---|---|---|
| Rxi-1ms (this page) | Dimethyl polysiloxane | 30 m, 0.25 mm ID, 0.25 µm, -60 to 330/350 °C |
| Rxi-5ms | Diphenyl dimethyl polysiloxane | 30 m, 0.25 mm ID, 0.25 µm, -60 to 330/350 °C |
| Rxi-5Sil MS | Silarylene phase, phenyl groups in the polymer backbone | 30 m, 0.25 mm ID, 0.25 µm, -60 to 320/350 °C |
Equivalents at a glance
Anyone switching from another brand will find the phase under the following designations:
| Manufacturer | Comparable phases | Comparable column part number |

When Rxi-1ms, when Rxi-5ms
The application list of the Rxi-1ms includes simulated distillation, oxygenates, GRO and refinery gases. Phenols, residual solvents and drugs of abuse, on the other hand, belong to the Rxi-5ms. Pesticides, PCB congeners and solvent impurities are listed for both columns.
Amines
Amines are on the application list of the Rxi-1ms. For volatile amines in difficult matrices such as water, there is also the base-deactivated Rtx-Volatile Amine with 60 m, 0.32 mm ID and 5.00 µm film thickness.
Typical applications
The Rxi-1ms is designed as a general-purpose column for fire accelerants, and also for essential oils, hydrocarbons, pesticides, PCB congeners (for example Aroclor mixtures), sulphur compounds, amines and solvent impurities. Further uses are simulated distillation, oxygenates, organics in the gasoline range (GRO) and refinery gases.
To clarify the terms: simulated distillation is the gas chromatographic determination of the boiling distribution of mineral oil products, and GRO stands for gasoline range organics. Oxygenates are oxygen-containing compounds such as alcohols and ethers. Aroclor is the trade name of technical PCB mixtures.

Individual requirements and procurement service
Restek offers further dimensions of the Rxi-1ms. Anyone who needs a different length or inner diameter can send us the part number or the desired dimensions, and LT procures the column on request. The same applies to other phases and accessories from the Restek range, for example liners and reference standards. Quantity and delivery address help with the quote. Anyone who needs several columns or accessories can combine everything in one request.
