The Rxi-624Sil MS with 20 m length, 0.18 mm inner diameter and 1.00 µm film thickness is the shortest and narrowest version of the Rxi-624Sil MS family in the shop. The phase is a crosslinked Crossbond phase of medium polarity on a fused silica tube and is designed for volatile organics, terpenes and residual solvents.
Phase and properties
Rxi-624Sil MS has intermediate polarity. It is characterised by low column bleed, high thermal stability and an inert surface. The columns are manufactured for column-to-column reproducibility and are well suited to validated methods. As a G43 phase it is used in residual solvent analysis, and the USP class makes it easier to match methods that specify a phase class.
Comparable phases from other manufacturers are Agilent VF-624ms, Phenomenex ZB-624plus and Quadrex 007-502, 007-624 and 007-608. A comparable Phenomenex part number is 7FD-G040-22.
Temperature range
The lower limit is -20 °C. At a constant oven temperature (isothermal) the column runs up to 300 °C, in a temperature program up to 320 °C. These limits apply to all four dimensions of the family.
Selection guide within the family
With 0.18 mm ID and 1.00 µm film, this column has the smallest diameter and the thinnest film of the four dimensions. Anyone transferring an existing method should compare length, inner diameter and film thickness with the method description.
