At 60 m, this Rxi-624Sil MS is the longest version of the family in the shop. Inner diameter (0.25 mm) and film thickness (1.40 µm) match the 30 m column 13868. The phase is intended for volatile organics, terpenes and residual solvents.
About the phase
Rxi-624Sil MS is a crosslinked phase of medium polarity on fused silica. Low column bleed, high thermal stability and inertness are among its characteristics, and the columns are manufactured for column-to-column reproducibility. They are also well suited to validated methods. The USP phase class G43 is in the table further below.
Known comparable phases from other manufacturers are Agilent VF-624ms, Phenomenex ZB-624plus and Quadrex 007-502, 007-624 and 007-608. Comparable part numbers are Agilent CP9103 and Phenomenex 7KG-G040-27.
Operating temperature
Permitted are -20 °C as the lower limit, 300 °C in isothermal operation and 320 °C in a temperature program. All four dimensions of the family have the same limits. Anyone moving from a shorter column to 60 m should revalidate the method, because retention times change.
When the long column, when another
This column shares diameter and film with 13868, but is 30 m longer. Compared with 13865 (20 m, 0.18 mm ID, 1.00 µm) it has 40 m more length, 0.07 mm more inner diameter and 0.40 µm more film thickness. The 13870 version is shorter at 30 m, but has 0.07 mm more inner diameter and 0.40 µm more film thickness.
