Bandelin SONOREX DIGITEC DT 156 BH Ultrasonic Bath with Heater, 9 L, 3221

The Bandelin SONOREX DIGITEC DT 156 BH is characterised by a tub measuring 500 mm in length and just 140 mm in width. The bath has a capacity of 9.0 l, features a 600 W heater for temperatures ranging from 20 to 80 °C, and is operated via buttons with a display.

Tank dimensions: 500 x 140 x 150 mm

The working capacity is 6.0 l, and the fill-level mark indicates the fill height. The tank and housing are made of 1.4301 stainless steel, with walls 1.0 mm thick. The unit measures 530 x 165 x 300 mm externally and weighs 7.2 kg; it has no handles. The drain is located on the right-hand side as a G ¼ ball valve; a hose connector and hose are supplied, and the 2-metre power cable is permanently attached.

Four vibration systems and a 600 W heater

Four oscillation systems generate a peak power of 860 W at 35 kHz (rated power 215 W). The heater has a power rating of 600 W and is protected by boil-dry protection and dry-run protection; the current consumption at 230 V is 3.6 A. SweepTec prevents standing waves in the ultrasonic field; the DEGAS rapid degassing function is activated at the start of the cleaning process, and a pulse function is available.

Button controls instead of rotary knobs

The SONOREX SUPER RK 156 BH has the same tank but is operated via rotary knobs; it operates within a range of 30 to 80 °C and does not have a DEGAS function. On the DT 156 BH, the temperature is set between 20 and 80 °C and displayed on the screen alongside the setpoint and actual values. The duration can be set to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes (± 5 per cent); continuous operation is also available. The bath switches off 12 hours after the last input.

Basket and accessories

The K 6 BL stainless steel immersion basket measures 460 x 100 x 50 mm, has a mesh size of 5 x 5 mm and a load capacity of up to 10 kg. Accessories include the lid D 156 and the perforated lid DE 156. The immersion depth is adjusted using the handle adjuster GV 3, whilst the silicone studded mat SM 6 is supplied in a pack of two. The range also includes the PHS 12 sample holder, 0.6-litre sample beakers, EK 25 to EK 250 clamps for laboratory flasks, and the FT 6 film test frame (220 x 410 mm).

Shallower or deeper

With the same length and width, the unheated SONOREX DIGITEC DT 156 is only 100 mm deep and has a capacity of 6.0 l. Those looking for a larger volume with heating should consider the DT 514 BH with a capacity of 18.7 l.
