At 100 mm deep, the tank of the Bandelin SONOREX DIGITEC DT 156 is shallower than that of the DT 156 BH, whilst the other dimensions remain the same: 500 mm long, 140 mm wide, with a total capacity of 6.0 litres and a working capacity of 4.0 litres. The bath has no heating and is operated via buttons.
Flat and long
The inner dimensions of the tank are 500 x 140 x 100 mm. It is made from 1.0 mm thick 1.4301 stainless steel; the housing is made from the same material. Externally, the unit measures 530 x 165 x 245 mm and weighs 6.3 kg; it has no handles. A level mark indicates the fill level. A G ¼ ball valve is fitted on the right-hand side of the drain; a hose connector and hose are included with the unit.
Ultrasound without heating
There is no heating element, so there is no temperature preselection and no boil-dry protection. The current consumption is 0.7 A at 230 V and 1.4 A at 115 V. The ultrasonic energy is generated by four transducers (35 kHz, 640 W peak, 160 W rated power). In addition, there is SweepTec to prevent standing waves, DEGAS for degassing before start-up, and a pulse function.
Operation
The duration is set using wipe-clean buttons and shown on the display: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes (± 5 per cent), or alternatively, continuous operation. It switches off after 12 hours if no button is pressed. The power cable is 2 m long and permanently attached to the unit.
Accessories
The K 6 L hanging basket (stainless steel, 460 x 100 x 50 mm, mesh size 5 x 5 mm, up to 10 kg) almost fills the entire length of the tub. It is compatible with the lids D 156 and DE 156 (perforated) as well as the SM 6 silicone studded mat (pack of two). The range of accessories also includes 0.6-litre sample cups, the KD 0 and PD 04 sieve baskets, the PHS 12 sample holder and the FT 6 film test frame with FL 14 films.
DT 156, DT 156 BH and the alternatives
The SONOREX DIGITEC DT 156 BH is 150 mm deep, has a capacity of 9.0 litres and features a 600 W heater, whilst retaining the same length and width. The DT 106 has a round basin (Ø 240 x 130 mm) and holds 5.6 litres. The SUPER RK washbasin SONOREX SUPER RK 156 BH The version with twist handles has the same bath size as the DT 156 BH.
