If you are already working with a medium at a specific temperature or at room temperature, an additional heating element is simply unnecessary technology in the unit. The Bandelin SONOREX SUPER RK 510 has a total capacity of 9.7 litres and a working capacity of 6.6 litres, providing ample space for laboratory glassware and larger small parts; it is deliberately designed without a heating function.

Powerful cleaning even without heat

At an operating frequency of 35 kHz, the RK 510 delivers 640 watts of peak power and 160 watts of rated power via four vibration systems. The SweepTec function continuously modulates the ultrasonic field to prevent standing waves from forming and ensure that cavitation acts evenly throughout the tank, even without auxiliary heating.

Robust tank for daily use

The tank and housing are made of 1.4301 stainless steel; the tank is 1.0 mm thick with internal dimensions of 300 x 240 x 150 mm. Operation is via a rotary knob; the timer covers 1 to 15 minutes (± 5 %), and continuous operation is also available. With a net weight of 7.2 kg and external dimensions of 325 x 265 x 300 mm, the unit can be moved around the laboratory with minimal effort.

Ball valve drain for easy medium change

A G 1/2 ball valve on the left-hand side allows the tank to be emptied without lifting or tilting it, which is practical when the cleaning medium needs to be changed frequently. IP 32 protection rating and CE conformity according to the Medical Devices Regulation, the Low Voltage Directive, the EMC Directive and the RoHS Directive allow it to be used in laboratories, medical practices and workshops alike.

Selection guide: unheated or with heating

The RK 510 shares the same tank size as the heated RK 510 H; both have a capacity of 9.7 litres, with a working volume of 6.6 litres. Those working exclusively with cold or pre-tempered media can save on the additional heating technology with the RK 510. As soon as grease or oil residues require a higher bath temperature, the RK 510 H is the more suitable choice, given the identical tank size.

Within the SUPER RK series, the range extends from 0.9 litres (RK 31) to 58 litres (RK 1050), with operation consistently via rotary knobs. Use and maintenance

The working capacity of 6.6 litres is deliberately set below the total capacity of 9.7 litres to prevent water from spilling over the rim when beakers or laboratory glassware are placed inside. A concentrate from Bandelin’s TICKOPUR range is suitable for use as the cleaning fluid. A short pre-run in continuous operation before the first cleaning cycle removes dissolved air from freshly prepared medium. After the last use of the day, the tank can be drained via the ball valve and then wiped dry to prevent limescale or cleaning agent residues.
