A depot that regularly transfers diesel from a 200-litre drum into vehicles or EL heating oil into a tank needs a pump that does not have to be operated manually every time it is used. The Petro electric drum pump does exactly that: it dispenses diesel, EL heating oil, undiluted radiator antifreeze and other liquids with a high flash point (formerly hazard class AIII under VbF) via a dispensing nozzle, powered by a 230 V mains supply.
Anti-siphon protection against leaks
An integrated anti-siphon protection system stops the flow if the hose is damaged or comes away, thereby preventing fuel from leaking uncontrollably. This is an essential safety feature for day-to-day use on vehicles and machinery.
Standard or automatic fuel nozzle
The pump is available with two types of fuel nozzle. The standard fuel nozzle is switched off manually and delivers a flow rate of around 38 l/min. The self-shutting automatic nozzle stops automatically as soon as the target tank is full, which is practical for frequent refuelling without constant supervision, and has a flow rate of around 32 l/min. Which variant is more suitable depends on whether one person is supervising the refuelling process throughout or is carrying out other tasks at the same time.
Range and connectivity
With an immersion depth of 160 cm, the pump can reach the bottom of a 220-litre drum. The 4-metre-long outlet hose bridges the distance to the receiving container, whilst the suction lift is approximately 2 m water column. The connection is made via an M 64x4 external thread, suitable for standard drum openings.
Not suitable for liquids containing water
The pump is expressly not suitable for liquids containing water or diluted liquids. Anyone who needs to transfer aqueous media as well as fuels will require a second, suitable pump unit for this purpose.
Flow meter as an accessory
For businesses wishing to record the quantities dispensed, an electronic flow meter with a totaliser and calibration function is available as an accessory. The meter is not verified and is therefore suitable for internal quantity monitoring, but not for billing subject to mandatory verification.
Use in day-to-day workshop operations
Whether refuelling construction machinery in the yard, topping up EL heating oil in the fuel storage room or decanting radiator antifreeze in the workshop: The pump remains mounted on its stand and is immediately ready for use via the nozzle, without having to fetch a device every time it is needed.
Electric drive instead of a pump handle
Compared with a hand-operated pump, the electric drive eliminates the need for repeated manual pumping, which makes a noticeable difference, particularly when refuelling several times a day. The operator simply holds the fuel nozzle; the pump itself handles the flow via the electric motor.
Threaded connection instead of a hose connection
The connection via the M 64x4 external thread sits securely on the drum and prevents it from slipping during operation, unlike a simple push-fit connection. The thread is compatible with standard 200-litre drums, such as those commonly used for diesel and EL heating oil.
Limitations of the scope of application
This pump is suitable for fuels and mineral oils, but is expressly not suitable for acids, alkalis or other chemicals. Anyone transferring both types of fluid in the same facility will need two separate pumps so that no residual fluid from one application enters the other.
