When dispensing from a sealed metal container, the fill level can normally only be estimated. The stainless steel safety container, fitted with a tap and a level indicator, makes the contents visible and combines this with a self-closing tap for controlled dispensing.

PFA level indicator for visual monitoring

A PFA level indicator on the outside shows the fill level during both filling and dispensing, without the need to open the screw cap. This reduces the risk of accidentally overfilling the container or running it empty unnoticed whilst working.

Self-closing tap with adjustable venting

The tap closes automatically after dispensing; the continuous venting can be precisely adjusted using a plastic lever on the screw cap. This keeps the internal pressure under control during dispensing without the need to operate a separate valve. In addition, the pressure relief valve ensures pressure equalisation during storage from approximately 0.3 bar.

Stainless steel 1.4571 for everyday use

The container is made from 1.4571 (V4A) stainless steel, with PTFE seals. With a capacity of 10 l, an external diameter of 260 mm and a height of 330 mm, it is the most compact model with a tap in this series and is easy to handle in the workplace.

Compact design for the workplace

Weighing 2.48 kilograms when empty and with a base diameter of 260 millimetres, the container can be accommodated on a standard laboratory bench or in a base cabinet without taking up much space. When a collection vessel is placed underneath, the tap points directly downwards, allowing small quantities to be dispensed in a controlled manner without having to reposition the container. For daily use at a fixed workstation, this is a practical size, falling between a hand-held jug and a larger storage container.

Maintenance of the level indicator

The PFA level indicator is located on the outside of the container and can be cleaned during regular cleaning using standard cleaning agents for stainless steel containers. If it becomes clouded by residues that remain on the surface for a prolonged period, the fill level can no longer be reliably read; an occasional visual check whilst refilling prevents this. Unlike a mechanical fill-level indicator, the PFA indicator has no moving parts that could wear out.

Labelling without a specific standard

Bürkle labels the container as food-safe without specifying a specific standard, such as EU 10/2011, on the product page. For your own records, it is worth enquiring before placing an order if certification in accordance with this regulation is expressly required.

Suitable versions for other capacities and purposes

For larger volumes with a tap but without a level indicator, the Bürkle stainless steel safety container with tap, available in 10 or 25-litre capacities, meets the same requirements.
