Elma Elmasonic Easy 120H Ultrasonic Bath with Heating, 12.9 Litre, 37 kHz, 1118898

The Elma Elmasonic Easy 120H has a tank 195 mm deep in height. With 12.9 litres total volume and internal dimensions of 275 x 215 x 195 mm, it is the first Easy model with a fan and 200 W ultrasonic power. Resinification, adhesive residues, oils and greases are the contamination that Elma names for the series, and laboratory instruments, glass pipettes, and beakers and test tubes are among the items cleaned.

Deep tank, high fill level

The fill level is 165 mm, and 10.0 litres of working volume are recommended. The modular cleaning basket 120 (Art. 1113390) has internal dimensions of 250 x 195 x 135 mm and can be loaded up to 7.0 kg. From the basket floor to the liquid level it is 135 mm. Compared with the Easy 100H, the footprint at 275 x 215 mm has stayed almost the same (100H: 280 x 220 mm), but the tank is 50 mm deeper in height, and the basket is 135 instead of 90 mm high.

200 W ultrasound, 800 W heating

The ultrasound has 200 W effective power and 800 W peak at 37 kHz, and the heater likewise 800 W. Together the unit draws 1,000 W. The series has a fan from the 120H upwards. Temperature: 25 to 80 °C, and at a bath temperature of 90 °C the safety shutdown acts. With lid at a distance of 1 m, the sound pressure level is below 80 dB(A).

Drain with rotary knob

For emptying, the tank has a G 3/8 inch drain connection that is opened and closed with a rotary knob. The hose is connected with an internal diameter of 12 mm, and the hose nozzle is included with the unit. Available as accessories are a stainless steel drain strainer (Art. 1045648), the stainless steel lid 100/120 (Art. 1111932), plastic lid 100/120 (Art. 1003285, 1101133, 1071697), the insert lid 1 for four cleaning glasses or beakers (Art. 1111909) and a cooling coil (Art. 1037515).

Setting and modes

Cleaning duration and temperature are selected with two rotary knobs. The time knob goes from 1 to 30 minutes in ten steps and has the ON position for continuous operation with a stop after 6 hours at most. In addition there are the mode button for Eco and Dynamic and the start/stop button, with which ultrasonic cleaning is started and ended. The unit switches off after 8 hours without operation. There is no screen or program memory.

When the next size up makes sense

For parts with a larger footprint, the Easy 180H with internal tank dimensions of 300 x 270 x 195 mm and 17.8 litres is the next size. Ultrasound (200 W), heating (800 W) and tank height (195 mm) are the same as on the 120H, while tank area, volume and housing get larger. Where 145 mm depth is sufficient, the 100H with 9.5 litres is the smaller choice.
