Elma Elmasonic Easy 40H Ultrasonic Bath with Heating, 3.9 Litre, 37 kHz, 1118892

Laboratory instruments, glass pipettes, and beakers and test tubes are among the items to be cleaned that Elma names for the Easy series. For this, the Elma Elmasonic Easy 40H has 3.9 litres total volume, 120 W effective ultrasonic power at 37 kHz and a heater with 200 W. As across the whole series, operation is via rotary knobs, a start/stop button, a mode button and LED indicators.

Tank, basket and insert lid

The tank measures 215 x 115 x 145 mm internally, with 2.9 litres of working volume recommended at a fill level of 115 mm. 80 mm lie between the basket floor and the liquid level. The modular cleaning basket 40 (Art. 1113045) has internal dimensions of 195 x 105 x 95 mm and carries up to 3.0 kg. The insert lid 3 (Art. 1110262), which holds two cleaning glasses or beakers, is available as an accessory. In addition there are the stainless steel lid 30/40 (Art. 1111930), plastic lid 30/40 (Art. 1003281 ultramarine blue, 1101126 cobalt blue, 1071695 silver grey) and a cooling coil (Art. 1038735).

Performance data at a glance

The ultrasonic peak power is 480 W, and the total power consumption is 320 W. The temperature can be set between 25 and 80 °C, and at a bath temperature of 90 °C a safety shutdown switches the unit off. With lid at a distance of 1 m, the sound pressure level stays below 80 dB(A). There is no drain connection. The unit is connected to the mains via an IEC power connector at 220 to 240 V~, 50/60 Hz, and it has protection rating IP20 and protection class I. The tank and housing material is stainless steel.

Eco, Dynamic and fixed time steps

Two modes are available, switchable with the mode button: Eco runs more quietly, Dynamic more intensively. The rotary knob for the cleaning duration has ten steps from 1 to 30 minutes and the ON position for continuous operation with automatic stop after 6 hours at most. The rotary knob is also the on/off switch. The Easy series has no programs, nor Sweep, Pulse or Degas.

Same footprint as the 30H, more depth

With external dimensions of 305 x 190 x 280 mm and 4.0 kg (with lid), the 40H has the same footprint as the Easy 30H, and the housing is 50 mm higher. The gain lies in the tank: 145 mm depth and 3.9 litres compared with 95 mm and 2.7 litres on the 30H. Anyone who wants to drain the medium via a drain should look further to the Easy 100H, which holds 9.5 litres and has a drain connection.

Contamination named by Elma

For the series, Elma lists resinification, adhesive residues, oils and greases, and organic contamination. In addition there are grinding and polishing pastes, chips and flux.
