Product information "ESAB OK GoldRox Welding Rod, Rutile-cellulose, E 42 0 RC 11, Ø 2.5 x 350 mm, 1 kg, 46592535Z0"
The OK GoldRox, measuring 2.5 x 350 mm, is the slim version of this rutile-cellulose electrode. The current range is 60 to 90 A at 25 V. The coating is yellow and features an ignition aid.
Properties of the electrode
The GoldRox is classified as E 42 0 RC 11 in accordance with EN ISO 2560-A, and as E6013 in accordance with SFA/AWS A5.1. The alloy type is carbon-manganese. The weld metal has a tensile strength of 520 MPa and a notched impact energy of 60 J at 0 °C. Welding is carried out using direct current on both poles or alternating current; ESAB recommends the negative pole. For alternating current, the transformer requires a no-load voltage of at least 50 V. It can be used in all positions, including vertical down (PG) and overhead (PE) welds.
Primer and scale have little effect on the electrode; the slag is easy to remove and there is minimal spatter.
Typical applications
- Tacking and assembly welding in metal construction
- Light steel construction
- Tank construction and shipbuilding
Melt-off data for a diameter of 2.5 mm
At 90 per cent of the maximum current, an electrode burns out in 49 seconds; the deposition rate is 0.8 kg/h. The deposition efficiency is 62 per cent; 91 electrodes are required to produce 1 kg of weld metal. The operating voltage is 25 V. For those requiring a higher current, the electrode is also available with a diameter of 3.2 mm.
