Product information "ESAB Rogue ES 200i PRO Inverter Welder, Manual Metal Arc (MMA) and Live-TIG, 200 A, 115/230 V, 0700500079"
The ESAB Rogue ES 200i PRO operates at 115 V and 230 V, weighs 8.4 kg and comes with a shoulder strap. It is capable of manual metal arc (MMA) welding and Live-TIG welding, with a maximum output current of 200 A.
MMA and Live-TIG with up to 200 A
In MMA mode, the current can be set from 20 to 200 A; in Live-TIG mode, from 10 to 200 A, in both cases at 230 V. Electrodes are available up to 4.0 mm in diameter. The open-circuit voltage is 78 V DC; the VRD function is active below 30 V. The scope of delivery includes an electrode holder and a 3 m return lead cable with a clamp.
Mains, generator and power requirements
The unit accepts 115/230 V AC with a tolerance of ±15 per cent at 50 or 60 Hz. The primary current in MMA mode at Imax is 30 A at 230 V and 29 A at 115 V; the apparent power is 6.9 kVA. The power factor is 0.99, and the efficiency is 82 per cent. In energy-saving mode, the unit consumes 50 W. The unit is suitable for generator operation; a 7 kW generator is recommended. The mains cable is 3 m long.
Operation and arc
On the PRO model of the ES series, Hot Start and Arc Force can be adjusted; the unit also features a PFC circuit. A remote control is available as an option; ESAB supplies it as the MMA 4 with a 10 m cable under part number 0700500084. The remote control is not included in the Scope of delivery. In Live-TIG mode, the same setting range applies as in MMA mode up to 200 A, but it starts at 10 A instead of 20 A.
Dimensions, weight and environmental conditions
The housing measures 403 x 153 x 264 mm. Weighing 8.4 kg and fitted with the supplied shoulder strap, the unit can be carried to the site of operation. A plastic case (0700500085) is available as an accessory. The protection rating is IP23S; the permissible operating temperature range is -10 to +40 °C.
Differences compared to the Rogue ET 200iP PRO
Both units have a maximum output current of 200 A, a mains voltage of 115/230 V and the same duty cycles. The ES 200i PRO is a manual arc welder with Live-TIG mode and weighs 8.4 kg. The ET 200iP PRO is a TIG inverter with HF ignition and a pulse function (0.2 to 500 Hz); it weighs 9.6 kg and has a 4 m TIG torch as part of the scope of delivery. If you mainly weld with stick electrodes, the ES is the right choice; if you mainly weld with TIG, the ET is the right choice.
Duty cycle
The length of time the machine can be operated continuously depends on the current. The specifications for both processes:
| Current | Duty cycle | MMA voltage | TIG voltage |
| 200 A | 25 % | 28.0 V | 18.0 V |
| 129 A | 60% | 25.2 V | 15.2 V |
| 100 A | 100% | 24.0 V | 14.0 V |
Typical applications
- Repair and maintenance
- Building and civil engineering
- Agricultural machinery
- General manufacturing
- Manual arc welding of alloyed and unalloyed steel, stainless steel and cast iron
