The C-MAG HS 10 digital (MPN 0004240400) is the IKA magnetic stirrer with heating for large batches: on the ceramic work surface of 260 x 260 mm it stirs quantities up to 15 l (H2O) at a maximum load of 20 kg. The heating power is 1500 W, and the heating plate reaches up to 500 °C. Set and actual temperature appear simultaneously on an LCD. Anyone who wants to control the temperature directly in the medium connects the PT 1000 temperature probe supplied.
Heating plate and temperature control
The heating plate is made of glass ceramic and has very good chemical resistance. The heating temperature is set by rotary knob between 50 and 500 °C, and the setting accuracy of the heating plate temperature is 1 K. The heating rate is 5 K/min with 1 l of water. At maximum stirring, the work surface warms by 2 K (room temperature 22 °C, duration 1 h).
With the PT 1000 in the batch, the device works as a medium controller. The control accuracy in the medium is ±0.5 K, the actual value display resolves to 0.1 K, and the setting accuracy of the medium temperature is 1 K. Heating plate temperature and medium temperature are two separate quantities: the 500 °C apply to the plate, and in the vessel the temperature depends on quantity, vessel and medium.
Stirring drive for quantities up to 15 l
The motor drives stirring bars up to 80 mm in length. The speed is selected on a scale from 0 to 6 and covers 100 to 1500 rpm. Three IKAFLON stirring bars 20, 30 and 40 are included in the scope of delivery. The stirring capacity of 15 l (H2O) refers to one stirring position, and the device has exactly one.
Protection against burns and liquids
A fixed safety circuit switches off at 550 °C and is independent of the set heating temperature. The Hot Top Indicator warns of a hot surface, and an error code appears in the event of a fault. The control panel is set apart from the heating plate so that liquid running out does not reach the controls. Three operating modes are available: Standard, Safe and adjustment lock.
Classification within the C-MAG series
The HS 10 digital belongs to the C-MAG HS 4 / 7 / 10 digital series. You will find the smaller version with a 180 x 180 mm work surface as the C-MAG HS 7, the variant with stand accessories and ETS-D5 as the C-MAG HS 7 Package and a model with LCD display as the C-MAG HS 7 control.
